First game of the season for Erin and me.

And a whole new challenge (taking a baby to a game is easy - taking a Toddler who doesn't want to sit still is a whole different ballgame!)

New forward signing just announced - another find from lower down the leagues, but the lad clearly has goalscoring pedigree.

Shepshed have brought in 2 new players today, who on the face of it look like good, experienced additions. I’m very happy with our recent signing, Levon Stewart. If there was one ex Bugbrooke player I would’ve wanted to sign in pre season it would’ve been him! Daventry signing him last season certainly caused a stir, as he had many suitors at the time. Looking forward to watching him in AFCRD colours.

One of those games that we would have definitely lost 1-0 last season.

In a lot of ways I'm a bit disappointed - we had all the play, all the chances, better football and never really looked particularly troubled at the back.

But we're guilty of over-engineering it in front of goal.

A bit more decisiveness in front of goal, and I think we'll be a very good side.

That said, as Utto mentioned - if you'd offered us an away draw at Shepshed at the start of the season, I think most fans would say I'd take that.

We certainly have a team with bags of potential, if the management can get it to click consistently we could be a force again.
