Yesterday's attendance and beyond
Why was the attendance so good yesterday? Was there some sort of promotion on offer or was it genuinely because we are closing in on play off spot. We really need to ask what can we do to improve attendances. When we voted to move to Hayden Road it was seen as a way to attract more fans. That has not happened, even before the effects of the Covid years. Clubs such as Dulwich and Hastings have amazing crowds. Should we be engaging more with local schools or using our young age groups to promote the club. It is possible we could be playing at Step 2 next season and if so attendances will need to increase dramatically. Yesterday's attendances in step 2 averaged 1100 (a couple of exceptions either way). We don't have a rich benefactor so depend on gates, sponsors and the club lottery. Anyone got any suggestions.
