Re: Tommy Berwick signs
This is certainly a boost for the fans and club but not sure what it will do for some of our existing strikers morale!.

Re: Tommy Berwick signs
Our existing strikers should be chomping at the bit to play with him at this club. It's a statement of intent that we mean business and to progress. If they're not happy then there's plenty of opportunities to play elsewhere.

Agree with this being a great signing. However I do fear if we now don't get promoted we are going to be left with a rather large wage bill and the inevitable fall in crowds next year if we were to remain in the UCL. That of course is not a good combo.
When we first started a senior side we signed young, hungry players, now we just seem to be signing any big name and lets be honest journey men who switch clubs for an extra tenner. They all say "I'm excited about the AFCR&D project etc etc". But come on guys be honest they wouldn't be half as interested if a nice bit of wedge wasn't coming their way too!
I hope this gamble of buying big names and other teams top players works. If it doesn't and we remain in the UCL the club risks upsetting all the other clubs in the league by conducting themselves in this way. Not only that the fans will become alienated and annoyed by watching 11 money grabbing journey men half of who are just here for the money.
So come on Ralph and Co be honest for once. We do pay big wages and our promise of bringing through are own is falling way short. Not a single U21 has had a prolonged run in the side and many have been allowed to leave only to be replaced by Dunkley, Ling, King, Berwick and he like. The old club went around buying the best from other teams for big money and it appears the new club is too. I don't mind if it gains success but just be honest and admit that's what the current plan of attack is!

Re: Tommy Berwick signs
I don't think our wage bill is anywhere near as high as Holbeach's or even Spaldings last season, but hey what do I know?!
Very impressive signing though.

Re: Tommy Berwick signs
Let's hope he can play in the back four because if one of those get injured we are going to have to score three every game

Does this mean Alphie Taylor won't be coming back? :(
