I think we had a female running the line a while back but have we ever had a lady referee one of our games? Well, we have on Saturday, Mary Harmer.

At half time I hope she pops into Hayden's Burger Hut and makes us all a sandwich! ;)sussexdiamond wrote:I think we had a female running the line a while back but have we ever had a lady referee one of our games? Well, we have on Saturday, Mary Harmer.

We played Harrowby last Saturday and I've got to say, they were very poor as a team. The only reason they scored 3 goals against us because we didn't have a recognised keeper , so one of our defenders went in goal.
Not taking anything away from Buckby- it was a good, all-round team performance and a long-coming 1st victory, but I can't see Harrowby beating anybody TBH.

I don't think Haydn would be best pleased with someone bringing their muddy boots in!Dowlo wrote:At half time I hope she pops into Hayden's Burger Hut and makes us all a sandwich! ;)sussexdiamond wrote:I think we had a female running the line a while back but have we ever had a lady referee one of our games? Joking aside, hope she has a good game and people don't get on her back. It's terrifying being a referee!

So many places we could go with this but best we don't even start. At least being female she will be able to multi task, unlike the clown running the line at Boston who couldn't "keep up with play & look across the back line at the same time"

Anyone know how the pitch is?
If it's not on I've got to go shopping

I would not have thought it was in any doubt. Very little prolonged rain this week but plenty of wind to dry out the pitch. You can keep your wallet in your pocket.(Unless you want to purchase some AFC R &D merchandise!)Mat.H wrote:Anyone know how the pitch is?

The Dog and Duck is looking really good this season, maybe Gary Neville would prefer to watch us instead that other match this weekend.

Came down A14 about an hour ago and a monsoon was in progress, though in Bedford nothing so may or may not have got Welly, if the pitch did get a soaking it`s not very good drying conditions for next 24 hours, not as windy but very cold. Hopefully all will be ok, though if not I won`t be joining anyone shopping instead will find a game that is on or last resort a pub with sport on TV.sussexdiamond wrote:I would not have thought it was in any doubt.
