For those that followed St Neots in our senior football-less season, Thurnby have Pearson Mwanyongo on their books. He looked an excellent player for St Neots that season but doesn't appear to have progressed as might have been expected.
They also have striker Liam Canavan who used to play for Hinckley in Conference North.

With so much talk on here about attendances, I don't suppose we can expect many from Thurnby, 21 at their game with Harborough last night.
Having read a couple of reports from groundhopping neutrals who've been to see Thurnby this season, they seem to be quite a physical side who also like to try and intimidate the match officials. Hope we get a strong ref on saturday

The ref is listed to be Robert Evans, who was the ref when we beat Holbeach at the D&D last season. He obviously had a serious ear-bending from Tommy Treacher and his team-mates in that game, and although he did show 5 yellows he was pretty tolerant of some of their antics too.

From what I've seen over the last few years the refs in the UCL are very tolerant of clubs who systematically set up their players to gang up on them from the first whistle. It's games like these where it's imperative we force the issue early on by making a fast, energetic start, moving the ball quickly before the opposition have warmed up and settled into the game. The mistake we made at Yaxley was starting off on the back foot, putting us at the mercy of refereeing decisions later on. If we take the initiative early on then Thurnby's tactics at getting at the ref won't have as much of an impact.

I'd say "if it isn't broken then don't fix it" for the start. We've got a nice bit of momentum going and Tuesdays display was the best I've seen so far this season.
