Twice we have been to the high court faced winding up orders, rumours of further financial problems when the power was cut recently but we can turn down substancial (200K plus) offer for a player.
At the fans forum our chairman said he would no longer just throw money at the club and we would have to live within our means but we have no shirt sponsor for next season but again we can turn down a substancial offer for Tomlin.
Either our chairman has had a change of heart and will bankroll us further or we have found another investor be it not as grand as the one Crawley found.
Of couse we have just signed the son of Brian York a property developer who is or was involved in Football in Cambridgeshire just thought i would mention this to get the conspiracy theorists started.
Anway i'm confused if we are broke or not these days.

It's nicer to just not think about it.

Re: Mixed Signals
We have to look at the value. It's not the fact that someone has offered us 200k for an asset. It's that someone, in the same division, has offered us 200k for the most valuable player under contract at the club. A player being tracked by a number of teams. The offer has come from a team with more money than sense now. If Peterborough in their height had made an offer for any of our players, would you ever take the first offer knowing they have the money to come back and pay more, knowing that our player is one of their very top transfer targets? They are going to bid more. Other teams will start to put their bids in.
What if Tomlin doesn't want to move sideways, only up? Have you thought about that aspect?
It's not mixed signals. It's not rejecting the offer because we "need" to keep hold of him. It's about getting the best value for your assett which is in demand. It's also, hopefully, partially about doing what is right for the player as well as the club.

I very much agree - and it seems to tally with what was reported in today's ET too.Jemfy wrote:We have to look at the value. It's not the fact that someone has offered us 200k for an asset.
