Great signing, I think with Dunks not being 100%, Tom now presumably injured, we're lacking a big front man. If you look at who we know is fit there isn't a natural goal scoring partnership there, hence why this move has been made to bolster the squad.

The Board/management are damned if they do and damned if they don't - to take this club forward we need to win this league and go up this year. I'm sure, knowing firsthand how the Board work, this won't be boom or bust - but it is a massive demonstration of intent.

Re: the budget/funds - all will become clear at the AGM, there is no need to share information like that now, it'll all be laid there for members to see at the appropriate time, it's all transparent.

I would presume Berwick and Joseph to start Saturday with Dunks on the bench if not fully fit, but if he's fit this will be a fearsome front line.

Hope it works, but I applaud the move - let's go to Holbeach brimming full of confidence and do the business !!

I meant to add, remember these guys aren't on contract (just Dunks) so there is no massive ongoing wage bill commitment to worry about.

Is'nt Joe Merrill on a contract or has it expired?

I thought it had expired - as far as I'm aware we've just got Dunks on a contract, I think Joe's ran out at the end of last season?

Could be right. Any news on when he might return?

I had a great partnership with Dunkley as I played on the last man and read his flick ons.
This quote in particular makes me very excited about this signing, Dunkley and a strike partner who can read and properly get onto his often superb flick ons would tear apart all but a few UCL defences I imagine, I hope we can at least get Dunks and this guy playing in the big games even if Dunks isn't 100%. But nevertheless, a superb signing and I have absolutely no problem whatsoever about us signing journeymen strikers and players who have done it before at this level rather than younger players, of course we want to give young and upcoming players a chance, but ultimately at this point to take this club forward and up the pyramid, we probably need players who we know will do the job.

Though what will this mean for our other strikers out of interest?
