Very satisfying win that in the end, especially after Thurnby's 1st half performance which I thought was impressive and they could have been 2 or 3 up by half time, but we did well to get back into before half time and then with Matty coming on, went on to win it well. The 3rd goal was one of the best I've seen this season, lovely flick on from Matty again and the finish from Scott Joseph was just fantastic, you won't see many better finishes than that in the UCL
And can we have a community day every week, 734, great crowd, almost 200 more than K*ttering which makes a change, hopefully we can get a similar crowd next week for Holbeach and it was great to see their result today

Well that was a game of two halves if ever there was one!
The fact we only let in one in the first half was more by luck than judgement. Mwanyongo and their midget striker were causing absolute chaos and they were pulling some great set-piece routines out the bag. We got the equaliser against the run of play at the perfect time.
Second half I think Thurnby got it wrong, either that or they were unable to keep up the relentless pressure they were applying in the first half. They sat back and allowed us to attack them, and once Gearing and Joseph came on we looked like we were going to score on every attack. Gearing did exactly what he would have wanted to do given the competition for places, assisting 2 and scoring from the bench. The assist for Joseph's goal, and the goal itself, was great to watch.
Ended up being a really excellent result against a side who will cause the other leading sides in this league a problem or two. Great to see all the community sides at the game and adding a good 100-150 to the gate in the process, I hope they come back next week!

They were 1-0 down until the second in the 89th minute, and the other two came in injury time. With a few minutes to go at 1-0, their joint manager Graham Drury was sent off. Seems they imploded right at the end but although this is a terrific result for us, such a humiliating and surprising scoreline will gee them up for a backlash for their next game, which I believe is us. This 4-0 loss could also be a confidence crusher for them of course which would be perfect, but I think it will be dangerous for anyone to be complacent and write them off. Many of these lads were obviously in last years's Spalding team that went on a strong run in response to losing to us in December, and I can imagine they'll be desperate to make amends next week. If we play like we did in the 2nd half today however, we may make what they do irrelevant.
I thought our game was terrific. Right in the balance until Joseph & Gearing took control. Was quite disappointed by our sloppy start but we really found another gear after the break and showed great tenacity, and creativity, to take the points. Brad's first home goal for us I believe and Dunks was immense in 2nd half.

I think today's game showed we need an attacking midfielder as cover for Adam Confue. I hope we go back to conventional full-backs too - perhaps Dolman and / or Parky might be rested on Tuesday after the challenging game they had today.
I think that was the most troubled I've seen our defence since the games at Oadby and Eynesbury in our first season.
EL-J did well in the first half, but was so close to a red card that it was a wise move to bring him off - and perhaps that proved to be the catalyst for our victory. There's certainly plenty of competition up-front as all 3 subs impressed.

They were a decent side, probably one of the best I've seen so far this season. They pressed us hard in the first half, but for me we asked for that by almost inviting them
on to us - we paid them far too much respect by playing deep and not getting at them down the flanks, that's where they were susceptible, as the second half proved. We missed Sam's surging runs down the left - Faz seemed isolated at times as Jack seemed to hit a force field 1st half, he wouldn't come forward to take the game to them - team orders I'm guessing?
That said, Peaksy's team selection and tactics are vindicated by the win, but I do prefer it when we take the game to the opposition - we're a damn good side and when we do that and the opposition struggle to cope with us.
Massive well done to Matty and Scott, for me their introductions changed the game - Matty's little flicked pass for Scott's goal was lovely, Scott's finish sublime.
Great to see Holbeach lose, hopefully we can deliver a similar blow to them next week - 1-0 down at 89 mins and a 4-0 defeat, ouch !!
On to Tuesday and Kempston, they are all must win games now, we've got to keep this run going - but we're looking good !!

Must echo all that you have said Piggers, a very good win against a good side who will probably be about 6th by the end of the season , should help us by taking points off dome of the other top sides

Fully agree with the comments, 1st half lucky not to be 2 or 3 down, 2nd half superb entertainment. Was so frustrating to see the lads backing off in the first half and allowing their midget striker to cause mayhem. He was a handful all afternoon. Full credit to Brad who seemed to get stuck in and a well taken goal. There just ain't enough getting stuck in there in my opinion. Tom Lorraine was poor today, should never have allowed that cross in leading to their goal. Was glad when Scott came on and what a handful hes going to be again. Was glad when matty gearing came on, why does the game ccompletely change when he's introduced?
Anyways a wins a win, move forward to Tuesday ready for the big one next weekend!!

A great 4-1 win, the 1st half was tough, (chances for both teams) once we got are noses in front, they crumbled, great 3rd goal for Joseph.
Great news that Holbeach lost, it would be nice if Huntingdon have a blip.

Great win, It's nice to have hard-workers like Joseph and Gearing to come on in the second half, Joseph's goal was lovely.
I do think we need to settle on a formation and line-up for Saturday though, so it would be good to see Tuesday used as a tune-up game, personally I'd like to see a 4-4-2. It's good having selection headaches for the likes of Thurnby but really for the biggest game we should know the team. IMO Koriya and Gearing on the wings and probably Joseph to start up-front as well, he's looked class every time I've seen him.
I also wonder whether it might be worth risking no keeper on the bench in these next games, then we could have 5 from; Parky, Gyasi, ELJ, Turner, Lorraine, Butts and Bunting.

Don't like the idea of not having a substitute keeper, the risk of an injury/sending off may be fairly small, but if it happened early on against say Holbeach, we lose the game. To the best of my knowledge, no outfield player at the club now, is both confident and competent with the gloves like Gilly was. Anyway with the versatility amongst our outfield players a little reorganisation should see us able to cope with any circumstances.
I also don't like the idea of seeing Tuesday as some sort of "tune-up", we must focus totally on beating Kempston, if not we may not do so. One game at a time!
