I think they opened up the school playing field behind the goal for additional parking last time.

A bit of a struggle and perhap's a case of 'After The Lord Mayor Show'. A bad mistake by Ling gave their young 9, Shaw, a chance which he smashed from 25-30 yards in the top corner giving Finlay no chance. After equalising I thought we'd go on to win comfortably, but Harrowby dug in and although Mattie missed a penalty, following the corner Merrill pounced and replicated the Harrowby goal in the same top corner bringing back memories of his goal at London Colney. This 3 points could be very useful come the end of the season.
Apparently Holbeach have been eyeing up Harrowby's young striker who looks a good prospect.

Certainly a win that earns the tag 'hard fought'. If Harrowby's players used as much energy playing football as they did on time wasting & shouting, they might have got something from the game. Gearing saw his penalty saved (guess he was due a miss) and the timing of Joe's goal, just a few seconds later, was crucial for the lads' confidence I felt. 3 big points there.
For anyone who wasn't there, a quick video of Joe's stunning goal has already been posted on the club's Twitter feed. Well worth a watch.

The Merrill goal recovered us from a pretty desperate afternoon, with the constant time-wasting from the home side from the first minute, and a very poor pitch meaning a very disjointed game. It was ironic that after the Arrows players had harangued the ref all game it was Adam Confue that picked up the first yellow for questioning his decision. Similarly Russ Dunkley picked up a yellow for timewasting (albeit deserved) when the home players activities went unpunished. At least we had the last laugh by spending 3 minutes killing the game by the corner flag. Quite why the referee stopped the Gearing breakaway was a mystery - he seemed to accuse Tom Lorraine of an American Football style off-the-ball block.

Soon as I saw the tweet describing Merrill's goal I thought back to London Colney! And judging byt some of the comments so far, looks like just like that afternoon he got us out of a hole again as well!
Only 3 points, but a really important result I feel, turning what could have been only a point into 3 points and Holbeach won again today to continue their 100% start. I'm assuming that they're not quite on the same level as Spalding, and they haven't exactly been cruising every week so far it seems, but they are probably not going to drop too many points, so neither can we.

Wasn't there but saw this comment and chuckled. That's another to add to the list. Wake up people the bloke's useless.
Sounds like a good result and a good 3 points in the end. 3 wins from 3 in the league good solid start. Roll on Hendon and another FA Cup day on the p*ss in London! See you in The Scotsman bring your pound coins ;)
