Just been looking at the Stats page on the OWS.

Nic Evangelinos has 11 assists and 2 goals in 15 appearances so far. Nabil Shariff has 8 goals and 8 assists in 16 appearances. Not at all surprised by Nabil's impact but Evangelinos has been a bit of a revelation after looking decidedly average in pre-season.

From his first 5 mind in pre-season I knew we'd sign him. A left sided player is difficult to find and we did find a bit of quality in Hoban, but obviously he moved on. Apparently he was recommended by Andy Burgess and it's proving to be a good one. Only 21 as well I believe.

Player ages are here - http://www.afcdiamonds.com/201617-playe ... t-profiles - he's 22. I checked the Andy Burgess connection when I saw it quoted on here, and it may not be correct - perhaps someone saw he had played in the North-West and put two and two together.

Whilst I thought the match officials were pretty good on Tuesday, I did find the yellow card for Robbie Parsons a bit harsh. It was right at the end of the game, with the game clearly won, and he was booked for taking a free-kick before the ref had blown his whistle, when Sam Brown (I think) charged forwards and called for the ball. I guess Robbie had forgotten about the need for the whistle, given how long the ref had delayed proceedings. I suppose it must be the letter of the law, rather than just calling things back and getting on with the game.

But if he had applied common sense Formic it would not have been all about him and his nice new shiny whistle and card wallet which the previous 89 minutes had been, at least this one unlike some others we have had was, as we often ask for consistent, just a shame he was consistently poor.

He was certainly a stickler for the rules, at one point pacing out 10 yards for a free kick when the nearest Belper player was about 15 yards away. However, the one last Saturday seemed content to let the Sheffield players stand 3 or 4 yards away when the free kicks were near the touchlines. I gave Tuesday's one some credit for not booking Brad when he appeared to have already warned him, as that would probably have meant a ban for Brad at a time we can least afford to be without him.
