Corby diamond there were atleast 2 board members standing virtually on top of the alleged incident, he got led away by a board member. I don't see what you are getting at with the someone knows something come forward statement it's being dealt with.

As for people not coming because of a few rude words it's a football match not a rugby match it happens at every match up and down the country if you don't hear it off the pitch at other ucl games you'll hear it on it. To say ban the lot of the singers is ridiculous the club would be a lot worse off without them then it would be without the small minority who gets offended by a few bad words and Mr Rayment deserves some stick (not to be assaulted though).

I personally know I can walk up to any of the board members and have a conversation with them, if they have any concerns they will come speak to us they have done before and we were more then willing to cooperate with them.

To assume Saturday had anything to with any of the singers is unfair if you don't know what happened or didn't witness it then keep your nose out and trust the people we have voted for to run our club to do the right thing.

In reply to your post you obviously have misjudged it and replied to something other than what I have said. Fair enough if the board know about the incident the person responsible should be banned indefinitely...ok end of that?

Can you please explain where I mentioned ban the lot of singers. What I was stating is that it seems the line is crossed every game, but I didn't mean throw them all out and don't let them back in. I have stood on the terrace for years at np and I'm certainly used to the language thrown about. My point is that the opposition goalkeeper gets more support than the team does. Surely would it not be better to have a sing song about the afc to lift their spirits instead of concentrating on the weight of the opposition number 1...

While we are on the subject of people not coming because of the language then I will always attend, and many adults...what I was referring to was one posters comment regarding kids.

And my last point about saying this incident was one of the singers? Can you please point this out...many a times this season it has been mentioned that there is a group of about 3-4 that are not related to the singers...the eynesbury, wolfrinians, deeping incidents that is fair enough. And as for the afc singers, like I said I take my hat off to you... There is a group of you who bother to make up different player chants, club ones which is great to hear. I did not say at any time this incident was related to your group and by your post you seemed to think that's what I was referring to. Bob jones could of been on the terrace joining in with the chants as with any of the other hundred or so. Maybe one of them decided to take a pop at pat...

If you don't do something outside of a football ground, why is it acceptable to do it inside of one? I'm not saying ban all swearing, but I agree that 'the c-word' needs to be cut out, it's nasty IMO. Also just because every other club does it doesn't mean we need to, let's not pander to the lowest-common-denominator.

I also agree with the idea of getting behind our own team, rather than abusing opposition players. Remember the 'you're not no.1' chant at NP? It went on for ages and totally killed the atmosphere, I say let's sing positively!

"The happy clappy brigade" will always be shouted down because they're never going to be as loud as the abusive fans. Rather than argue, they'll just stop attending and personally I'd like them to stay. They aren't the ones giving us a bad reputation.

That's my point Bob's Bitch. We should be concentrating on 'supporting' our team rather than hurling abuse at others. The singers on the terrace can have a massive positive impact on the players & they do make up some very witty songs which I certainly don't have a problem with.

As I said I'm not a prude (as anyone who knows me will agree) and accept that swearing is part & parcel of following football but use of the 'c' word is unacceptable.

Incidentally rushdenshireelite, I'm not part of any "happy clappy brigade" & am my own person with my own views! I'm as dedicated a fan as anyone & am entitled to attend and enjoy the games without waiting for the next tirade of abuse. I'm also entitled to air my opinions on here without being shot down. Granted this is probably the wrong thread to discuss my gripe but I was responding to post to which I agreed.

Anyway I've said my bit & with regard to Saturday's incident I completely trust the Board to investigate & take the appropriate action.

Thing is like it was said the same sort of songs were sung at NP, and yes we have a new club but we also have the same fans as before and the passion and excitement they had has been carried through!

Because I'm a bit of a prat at times, just like the rest of the human race. I'll concede that threatening to run and tell a grown up is a bit childish, wasn't thinking when I wrote that, if I hear it getting out of hand again I'll just tell them to shut up and act their age.

I generally find that having a discussion with people face to face is more fruitful than simply having a go because your sensibilities have been offended - what is out of hand to you may not be considered out of hand to others.

I am not suggesting your are wrong by the way James, but just that discussion is generally the way forward if you think something is out of order, not an immediate attack!

We are all on the same side, after all...
