Down south at present so I'm off to watch Eastboune Borough play Hemel Hempsted today. Hoping there may be an ex Diamond on view. I believe Hemel have a few Kings Langley players.

It will be interesting to see the tactics today, as hopefully they will be what we plan to use in the season ahead. The fact he suggests in that article he's hoping to sign Orosz and Evangelinos makes me wonder if we plan a 4-3-3 approach, as both have a pedigree as a goalscorer, and we already have Lorraine, Shariff and Newman who might expect to start up front - then there's Jon Stevenson to come in later.

Whilst Hednesford were the better side, I think the scoreline flatters them a bit. I'm a lot more encouraged about the new season having seen that than I was previously.

I quite agree. They certainly had the better of the first half, but we looked good throughout and created quite a bit in the second half. I was impressed with Bradshaw and it was pleasing to see him supporting the wide right player throughout the game. Oulton looked good, and showed his long throw which created perhaps our best chance of the first half. I think there are still decisions to be made about strike partnerships - although apparently Newman and Shariff have linked better in other games than they did today.BartonRaz wrote:Whilst Hednesford were the better side, I think the scoreline flatters them a bit.
