It's James Jepson who's gone to manage Rugbysussexdiamond wrote:I thought Jason Lee was now manager at Daventry (or is it Rugby?).BartonRaz wrote:Oh man. Still plenty of time to sort things out but that retained list makes for grim reading. Hoban, Richards, Bowen and Quigley are all huge losses.
No word on Jason Lee so presumably he's still in discussions. No word on ELJ either. Anybody else?
As for the new players, pleased with the signing of Newman as has already been discussed, don't know anything about the other two.

Re: first team update
(Especially) gutted to see Claudiu go. I knew that play off defeat was a crippling moment for this club. Will be pleasantly surprised if we replicate last season and have an opportunity to go up.
Joe Curtis is another ex-RDFC youth player - played with him for a solid 5/6 years. After leaving RDFC got a big move to Southampton, but exactly like Aaron King ran into injury problems. Used to be a centre mid who could also play on the left. Exciting signing.

Imo we retained our two most important players (Dolman and Ashton).BartonRaz wrote:Oh man. Still plenty of time to sort things out but that retained list makes for grim reading. Hoban, Richards, Bowen and Quigley are all huge losses.

Re: first team update
It was always going to be difficult to recruit players now that we have been placed in NLP. Also a contributing factor must be our desire to keep within a strict budget. Other clubs seem to ignore finances until they suddenly realise they are overspending, usually around January .
Best news is the return of Sam Brown and Jake Newman, and that Ackroyd is still with us, hope we can keep Matt Pinder also.
Hoban is a great loss, It will be interesting to see where he has relocated, I hope its East Sussex! Not too bothered about Sandy or Hall, Richards and Quigley. None of them seem truly committed to playing a full season.
I would also like to see a fit more mature ELJ back, and hopefully we can re sign Connor Kennedy on loan.
Tom Manship is an interesting signing as he certainly did not impress, but showed in the match v K*ttering that he does have some considerable ability.

Re: first team update
Perspective please. The whole board stepping down, not having a ground, these are crippling moments. A winger who could win games on his own but also make it look like you were playing with ten is not a crippling moment.Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:I knew that play off defeat was a crippling moment for this club.

Thank you. Losing a single game is hardly even a blip, let alone a crippling moment.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Perspective please. Currently the wingless wonders then?? I wonder who's been lined up? Be interesting to note the trialists in the upcoming pre-season games.

With Sam Brown back I'm not surprised at all at that, didn't look like a full-back and would have to be very solid to challenge Bully and Jacko.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Hipwell is down as having signed UCL forms for Wisbech as well
