Very disappointing performance, matches against the top teams really is our Achilles heel. Doesn't bode well for any possible playoffs. Miss bunts massively.

Yep, seems to be our biggest problem since the first season. Never easy against the top teams I know, but not many times have we looked to dominate against a title rival. We would have taken play offs at the start of the season and still would nowfentiger79 wrote:Very disappointing performance, matches against the top teams really is our Achilles heel. Agree with the above, this has been a great season so far. If you'd offered me a title challenge with an expected play-off position with 9 games to go, I would have snapped your hand off. I have been delighted with the calibre of players we have brought in as we've progressed this year. It's going to go to the wire...

The attacking players brought in are of at least a league above. If we were to gain promotion then you'd think strengthing the defence would be a priory, not saying anybody should leave but it's almost the ucl winning team predominantly and might struggle stepping up againOundle Diamond #2 wrote:Agree with the above, this has been a great season so far. Agreed, but I think it's unfair to discuss the playing squad until the end of the season. This is what we've got and we might as well stick to supporting it. Fear not, I look forward to the retained list debates come June though, hoping I get as many right as last year.TheIncognitoKid wrote:The attacking players brought in are of at least a league above. Agreed, particularly since we don't know what league we will be playing in.Oundle Diamond #2 wrote: I think it's unfair to discuss the playing squad until the end of the season.
