I don't think I've ever seen as much dissent as from their no. 5, continual! He went over to the ref at the end ....... perhaps he was asking for a recount!diamondgeezer1 wrote:Wasn't helped by an completely inept referee who couldn't control the players! Tom Lorraine had to have a few spells on the bench but he has always taken that with good grace, and battled back into the side. It will be interesting to see if Berwick is prepared to repay Peaksy's loyalty and stick around to fight for a place in the side.Pigman wrote:Where else will you get that much entertainment for £8? Terrific !! Took them apart, sure they're not the best, but we showed some killer instinct today and led 3-0 without breaking sweat!
Thought Richards deserved the MOM award, he was immense, and Hall and Stevenson weren't far behind him. Stevenson could be the difference between us being a playoff side or champions if he carries on like that, and if Berwick felt aggrieved to be left out, Peaksy was vindicated by that performance - full of class! His link up play was fantastic.
Next week will be a tougher test, but I can't wait to see those lads back in action - no changes to the starting 11 except Ashton at left back due to Kennedy's suspension?
How Tom Lorraine didn't score 4 or 5 today I'll never know !!
Looks good to see us top of the table, the trick now is to stay there !!
My only complaint today was the fact that yet again too many of our players got involved when an opponent made a bad challenge. They need to learn to let the ref sort it out, otherwise we end up with needless yellow cards and an ever growing poor reputation.
Special praise must go to all those who ensured today's game was played.
Didn't think it was a red card personally, although can't believe the referee didn't book their number five, he was complaining throughout the game, surely dissent??
Anyway superb result, I honestly thought it would be one of those days! Like has already been said Stevenson seemed to lift the side, very exciting times, if he keeps it up!

He was their joint manager, so maybe that explained why he was like he was! For me I would have kept Berwick in the team instead of lorraine, Tom unfortunately misses too many chances. We got away with it on Saturday but against better teams we will not be as lucky.

If I was in our management team this is the drill I'd be working on with Tom on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.fentiger79 wrote:Tom unfortunately misses too many chances.

He's fine, several stitches and a sore head and is expected to make a full recovery.sussexdiamond wrote:Any news on the Greenford player who went to hospital? Hope he was ok...probably glad he left when the score was 0-0!!!
R.I.P Dale....always and forever in our hearts

Whilst neither Lorraine or Berwick have a very good "goals per game ratio" - about one in three in both cases, they do bring different things to the side. Tommy has a good number of assists this season, and Tom wins a lot of flick-ons and has pace and power. I thought it was the right decision to pair him with Stevenson in the first instance, as we need someone with aerial ability in our front line who can possibly form a "big man / small man" partnership with Stevenson.fentiger79 wrote:For me I would have kept Berwick in the team instead of lorraine, Tom unfortunately misses too many chances.
