What a great game. Hall played phenomenally, Richards was great again and Stevenson had a good debut. Lorraine was incredibly unlucky not to bag at least a couple more. He must've had a hat-trick of post hits!

Didn't want that game to end, hilarious stuff at the end, 8 goals and amazingly it could easily have been 12, was it 5 times we hit the post, I can't even remember! Lorraine will be wondering why he didn't bag a hattrick himself today, but Hall was superb and thoroughly deserved the hattrick, while Stevenson showed glimpses of his quality and had a good game too. Very poor opposition and the sending off helped too, but well done to the lads for being ruthless today, they could have just settled at 3 or 4, but they kept on going and with another 5-10 minutes would have hit double figures :clapping:

I thought Stevenson was fantastic personally and gave the whole team a big lift. You can tell he's played at a higher level because, like Dolman, his first touch is so good. Great to see Ashton back too.

You can only beat what's put in front of you, but we were uncharacteristically ruthless today and long may it continue. Really looking forward to a tough game next weekend now. A win away at Aylesbury of any description would send a far bigger message than this one today.

Where else will you get that much entertainment for £8? Terrific !! Took them apart, sure they're not the best, but we showed some killer instinct today and led 3-0 without breaking sweat!

Thought Richards deserved the MOM award, he was immense, and Hall and Stevenson weren't far behind him. Stevenson could be the difference between us being a playoff side or champions if he carries on like that, and if Berwick felt aggrieved to be left out, Peaksy was vindicated by that performance - full of class! His link up play was fantastic.

Next week will be a tougher test, but I can't wait to see those lads back in action - no changes to the starting 11 except Ashton at left back due to Kennedy's suspension?

How Tom Lorraine didn't score 4 or 5 today I'll never know !!

Looks good to see us top of the table, the trick now is to stay there !!

I think Peaksy showed great loyalty towards Tommy Berwick when he wasn't playing that well. Tom Lorraine had to have a few spells on the bench but he has always taken that with good grace, and battled back into the side. It will be interesting to see if Berwick is prepared to repay Peaksy's loyalty and stick around to fight for a place in the side.

My only complaint today was the fact that yet again too many of our players got involved when an opponent made a bad challenge. They need to learn to let the ref sort it out, otherwise we end up with needless yellow cards and an ever growing poor reputation.

Special praise must go to all those who ensured today's game was played.

A really dominant performance against a team that had undergone a significant recent improvement and on a pitch that looked fantastic compared to how it was two weeks ago.

Shawn Richards was heavily involved in pretty much everything we created while he was on the pitch and is really showing what a fine signing he was. Hats off to Hall, his first goal in particular was sublime, and what a nice sight it was to see Jon Stevenson in an AFC shirt. His first touch and natural balance is a joy to watch. I'm goin to be a lot more confident going to places like Royston and Egham later in the season with him leading our line. Top work all round and of course outstanding value in the entertainment stakes!

Great performance from first minute to the 95th. And we did not need either Nabil Sharif or Tommy.

For me a three way tie for MOTM between Stevenson, Richards and Hall.

Our time at the top may be shortlived as Egham play Royston on Tuesday, but lets enjoy it whilst we can.

Our next game should be quite a thrilling encounter as Aylesbury have the best home record in our division.

Wasn't helped by an completely inept referee who couldn't control the players! He made some bizarre decisions, thankfully the linesman on Dales Bar side helped him out a few times.

Didn't think it was a red card personally, although can't believe the referee didn't book their number five, he was complaining throughout the game, surely dissent??

Anyway superb result, I honestly thought it would be one of those days! Like has already been said Stevenson seemed to lift the side, very exciting times, if he keeps it up!

Well, I couldn't ask for any more of a great day of football. 8 goals for us, perfect team selection to provide an injection of urgency when it was needed. All of the team played really well and didn't let up when we were comfortably winning. Hall pipped the MOM for me, with his creative and clinical performance.
Top of the league, and this is where we will stay.
A great day.
