Re: Striker search
More nonsense, this is certainly not a tinpot league. I really dislike that kind of arrogant attitude. I like this league, close enough away trips and better grounds than the UCL.Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:Personally, I'd be disappointed to see us "settling" in this tinpot league.

Re: Striker search
I think tinpot is a tad disrespectful personally - it's a decent level of football and most of the people we have met at clubs have been really friendly.
I guess if you measure where the old club went then I get that attitude, but we're not ones to talk when you look at the Dog, and that's not even ours !!!

There's is also a number of players that have played at a professional level and been on the books of pro clubs. I haven't been to many away games in this league but I though Ware had a decent ground and St. Ives had an old school feel to it.Pigman wrote:I think tinpot is a tad disrespectful personally - it's a decent level of football and most of the people we have met at clubs have been really friendly.

I think this League is decent but not a big step up from the UCL prem but after watching the Prem teams we played against i feel that this will be a very large step up as K*ttering have found and that is with Richie assisting

Re: Striker search
if we are going to consolidate in a league and wait to improve the ground situation, we should be looking to do that in the league above. I think this squad would be lower mid table in the league above so we might as well really go for it this year (within budget) have use the following 3/4 seasons to adapt to southern prem standard whilst sorting out the ground. Killing two birds with one stone!

Re: Striker search
Personally I would like to see us move to our own ground and not throw money at the Dog & Duck if we go up, which as we all know we don't own. However it will be a case of finding somewhere preferably nearer Rushden.
I'm not sure of the full requirements of the SL Premier but I believe one of them is to fill in the gap between the barrier and floor around the ground much like Bedford's ground.

Actually the barrier is an issue for staying in this league, not just the Southern Premier. We need to get in place by 30th March.MarkH wrote:Personally I would like to see us move to our own ground and not throw money at the Dog & Duck if we go up, which as we all know we don't own. If this weather carries on much longer it won't be an issue because it will be below the waterline!Mad Dog wrote:Actually the barrier is an issue for staying in this league, not just the Southern Premier. We need to get in place by 30th March.

Perhaps a question for the fans forum? I understood that we had made a grant application for this essential work.Mad Dog wrote:
