As Rushdenman mentioned, it's the high water table level at the Dog & Duck. The ground will be saturated. It's on a flood plain and the rain that falls has nowhere to go. Where I live, water is draining off adjacent fields at a rate of knots and flowing down the main road to our village.MarkH wrote:The pitch must be in quite a bad state to postpone it this early.
Saving grace it's giving our injured players a few more days to recover although I'm not confident that Saturday's match will go ahead as more rain is forecast later this week.
