I don't think people are being negative as such Formic - I think the team have set a standard and didn't achieve it today - in truth that should have been a 4 or 5-0 performance - at 1-2 it looked like we could have dropped points as we did in those first 3 matches - we're better than that.

Great way to blow away any disappointment from Tuesday though, but we won today playing at 70% - had we lifted it by 10% we'd have battered them!

Next week will be far tougher - but I expect us to win, I've seen nothing in this league we should fear - we're now getting to the point where we need to make a proper statement and pull away from the others!

I really enjoyed today and thought Barton Rovers were great hosts.

We played some really good stuff at times. Sure we could have had one or two more, but even at 2-1 I never felt we were in any danger of conceding. It was important after Tuesday night that we got back to winning ways today so i'm delighted personally.

Am quite surprised people thought we played poorly I thought we played some good stuff today, every player played pretty well imo.
A mistake at 2-0 allowed them back into it but we be created so many chances and it could have finished 2-2 or 6-1 to us.
The last two times we went out of cups we lost so am really delighted with the three points

I couldn't see where anyone on this topic said we played poorly. I think a couple of posts were in line with our Club's official twitter comment at full time.

@AFCRD: Full time, 3-1 Diamonds. Good, solid away win. Should have been easier than it was, but 3 more good points.

I agree Trek - that wasn't the best we've played, and we did make harder work of it than it should have been - in passages we were great, but then dropped off - I thought we looked lethargic at times and that was why we almost let them back in. At 1-2 they could, and should, have equalised. We must be more ruthless and put teams to the sword. I accept we can't play at a high tempo for 90 minutes, but when we do, we destroy teams !!

Well done on the win - after the cup it was a big one and puts us right in the mix - big game next week!!

Actually only 4 of Rovers starting line up yesterday, Forster, Perry, Andrews and Kilroy were in the starting line up that were beaten 2-0 by Bedworth in the SL1C playoff final last May. Also Kesi Anderson scored 19 goals for them last season prior to his transfer to Crystal Palace.

Perhaps poorly was the wrong word, i was just surprised people said we didn't play well, i thought we played well for most of the game and one bad pass from Lorraine allowed them to get a goal back and we got a bit jittery but we hit the woodwork twice in the match and saw it out very professionally.

I'd have taken a 1-0 win after tuesday which must have taken so much out of the players, so personally i was delighted with 99% of the performance.

I agree, before the match, but thought the team that Barton fielded yesterday, apart from their number 9, was very average probably inline with their inconsistent performances this season and wasn't a patch on the Kings Langley outfit that we played in 'that' match in September.

But, hey ho, it's another 3 points and sets us up nicely against the Sarnies this Saturday.
