I think we're equal with Egham on points now - their game was in the trophy I think? - with 3 games in hand. Don't think many teams from our league, if any, got through the trophy games. Interesting point that Barwell lost 6-1 also.

Good result that, I thought we'd maybe find it tough after the 2 Cup games and thought a draw wouldn't have been a bad result, but go and win like that is impressive, hopefully this is the start of some good away form in addition to the great home form, have a good feeling about the rest of the season at this point, level on points at the top, but with 3 games in hand!

Egham next week will be a real test though.

Top of the league by a point (if you count the abandoned result) with two games in hand. Can't complain I suppose, but I thought it was a lethargic performance against a UCL-quality side. If we'd given it a real go in the first half I think we could've been 4 up at least.

I just hope we raise our game for Saturday, because it would be nice to win and open a gap early.

Made it hard for ourselves, I thought. Scored when we were on top but then took our foot off the throttle. Second half we took advantage of the slope, applied plenty of pressure with a deserved second goal from Bully but then made it difficult by immediately conceeding. Good finish in the end with a further goal from Quigley after Bully had earlier hit the bar with a header.

Only ourselves and Ware made ground this afternoon.

We can, and will, play far far better - but 3 points is 3 points !! 2nd in the table tonight but in reality top - if the SL pull their fingers out and sort out the abandoned game result!

Next week is a big game and we must improve on today! Time to make a statement guys - are we going to win this league or not :good:

I'm surprised to see all this negativity after we bounced back from the midweek disappointment to comfortably outplay a team that reached the playoff final last season, on their own patch. It was our best away league performance of the season by some distance. We hit the woodwork twice, saw another effort bounce over the crossbar, and saw several other opportunities denied by the second half linesman that seemed to be applying a different interpretation of the offside rule to the one we are used to.

That said, Matt Finlay also deserves praise for two excellent saves in a game that could have ended with a similar scoreline to the Fleet game.

An excellent 3-1 win, (could have easily been more) another 3 points in the bag.

4 teams on 27 points. Equal on points with Egham, who we play on Saturday. :joy:
