Wobblers in real trouble?
Just seen this article:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34538252
I knew they had a few off the field issues, but had no idea things were getting as bad a this news suggests. Of course, Dozy could be telling the truth when he says it should all be sorted soon, but it wouldn't be the first time a club owner has reassured the fans that everything will be fine, only for things to go from bad to worse....

Re: Wobblers in real trouble?
He's been lying for ages now and squirrelled away 2.65m of their loan to his own bank account. If you read back you'll see that every two weeks he says "just a few more days and the deal will be done" and it never happens. Now the shit's hitting the fan. NBC's 21 day deadline ends tomorrow and it'll be interesting to see what they do now HMRC have acted. They could piggy back onto the petition and completely screw them!

Maybe we should offer them all free season tickets for when they go bust?

Re: Wobblers in real trouble?
A worrying thought - if the Cobblers go under, K*ttering are the biggest football club in the area!
Hope this gets sorted out soon, one way or another. If they go under, maybe we might get a few new faces at the D&D, but the county town really should be able to support a football league club - perhaps there's something in this 'fan-ownership' stuff?

Never nice to see a club slapped with a winding up order, especially after our experience.
Hope they get it sorted.

Very true, whilst some of their fans behaved like prize tools in the past, I've never really had a gripe with them.
Hope they get it sorted!

Which Northampton pioneered through their Trust back in the mid 90's when they were owned by a real crook.James Beil wrote: perhaps there's something in this 'fan-ownership' stuff?
Not to the extent AFCR&D are fan owned but without those first steps.......

Re: Wobblers in real trouble?
Agreed. It was Brian Lomax who organised the 'we want the truth campaign' against the stewardship of Cobblers by barrow boy McRitchie in 1992. Brian later pioneered Supporters Direct becoming their first Chairman in the late 90's. Sadly he's now not in the best of health and plans to make his final visit to Sixfields to watch a match in the next week or so.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Which Northampton pioneered through their Trust back in the mid 90's when they were owned by a real crook.James Beil wrote: perhaps there's something in this 'fan-ownership' stuff?
