Re: AFCRD No1 Shirt
How much do we reckon the fine would be? It can't be anything more than a few hundred, surely? I like what Drunken Debanker suggested - put the tape on to make it 17, and bring out Dale's banner. There's no way this kind of nonsense would happen in the Prem, so there's no reason for it to happen down here - disrepectful more than anything else. Whoever wrote that rule is a numpty, but whoever decided to enforce it in this case is an utter front bottom.

Good to see such support from former players, Lee Tomlin, Alfie Taylor, Matt Gearing, Tom Cross, etc and from clubs also Cobblers, Fleet Town, Cogenhoe etc

Re: AFCRD No1 Shirt
It's embarrassing really and shows how out of touch with fans sone of these people are! It means nothing in terms of the game what number is on the goalkeepers shirt, but it means one hell of a lot to us, the fans! People bandy around the "football family" phrase, but it means nothing to these people !! We'll give the SL a lot of profile this year, it could have been very positive. As it is the whole of the footballing world is seeing what a bunch of incompetents they are! Shameful decision and one the FA must surely overturn if there is any common sense ........ I won't hold my breath !!
Tomorrow we should send Findlay out in the no 17 shirt and pay the fine if they're stupid enough to impose one! Fans will contribute I'm sure, I know I would!
We should be all anticipating an exciting day tomorrow, not talking about this kind of decision which is foolish beyond words!!

Re: AFCRD No1 Shirt
As it's under appeal to the FA I presume no fine could immediately be imposed??
But I agree - some things are more important!
Looking at the volume of traffic on Twitter about this issue The Southern League must surely reconsider? Mind you, expect no favours from them on any issue from here on - no friends made !! But then again, "no-one likes us, we don't care" ;)

Anybody from the Southern League who doesn't appreciate the impact Dale's death had on the club and the fans who went on to form AFC R&D less than a year later should take time to read Craig Farrell's tribute to Dale he made at the time. It took great courage to do that interview, but Craig wanted to do it to make sure people knew what a fine person Dale was, and how well regarded he was by all of his teammates. It might help those in their blazers realise the error of their ways.davealbon wrote:Craig Farrell and Ryan Charles have also shown their support on Twitter.sussexdiamond wrote:Good to see such support from former players, Lee Tomlin, Alfie Taylor, Matt Gearing, Tom Cross, etc and from clubs also Cobblers, Fleet Town, Cogenhoe etc

Cracking PR from the Southern League.
Who in their right mind would consider this sort of decision reasonable? Regardless of what club it concerns. Incredible.
