The defence was solid and gordan looks a quality signing alongside bully. Be interesting to see who the cb partnership is come the start of the season. Both keepers looked decent also, anyone know where Heath has come from?

Defensively - we did well, midfield - bunts looks good, Quigley not fit to lace Connie's boots on today's showing and unless he learns some discipline could be a liability, attack - looked bright to start with but faded with the enforced change.
I thought it had it's moments but was mostly a dull affair, little flashes by both sides, but I expected more from them.
Decent result, players still missing so we will improve, enjoyable afternoon !! Roll on the business starting for real, I hope Spriggs signs

Let's not forget that several people were criticising Adam Confue at this stage last season. I've seen Quigley play better than that in proper games, and today's formation didn't seem to suit him. With Bunts due to miss the first two games I think we need to line up with Quigley and Harris in midfield in the next couple of friendlies.

I was reminded about Confue being poor in pre-season last year when I spoke to somebody about Quigley earlier. Time will tell re: the latter. I'm more concerned about Lawless.Formic wrote:Let's not forget that several people were criticising Adam Confue at this stage last season. I think Wealdstone had a few players missing, but we certainly held our own against the side they fielded. Defending really well again. I don't see how we can leave out Ashton, Dolman or Gordon so we may have to come up with something that involves all three of them. Our attacking play was limited again, as it has been pretty much all pre-season with the exception of the second half against Rushden & Higham and short spells against Biggleswade. Felt a little sorry for Lorraine who was isolated up top on his own.
I saw Scott Joseph was there today. What's the situation there? Desperately disappointing if we don't manage to keep hold of him as he'd have a great chance of playing week-in week-out in this side, although he's probably way behind the rest in terms of fitness by now.

I think I saw Scott signing on after the game in the hospitality suite, if so I'm sure the club will announce it officially on monday.
