Gold Bond Update

Post by Sandy Lane »

Hi,

Thought I would take the moment when we have had our biggest winner to date:

£500 MR CHRISTOPHER COX

To give you an update:

We have been playing for 15 Weeks

We have 163 players per week

We have raised £1,783.57

Split:
£1337.68 (75%) AFC Rushden & Diamonds
£445.89 (25%) AFC Rushden & Diamonds Community

Not bad from such a small number of players....

Imagine the impact if we grow our number of players to the size of other clubs who are involved in the draw have, Worcester City (Fan base similar to ours) currently have over 2,000 members playing each week.

I need you... to spread the word, or to come and help me get people signed up, either canvasing, or creating a "round" in the area you live in, getting people playing who are not connected with the football club is the key, not only to raising money, but to raising our profile in the town and surrounding areas.

If you can see yourself helping in anyway, shape or form please PM me and I'll come back to you as soon as I can.

I can only endorse everything Mark says. It is well worth a punt and the club benefits.

With a £2 a week stake, to date I have received 5 cheques, not big amounts but it is always exciting to win something. Incredibly I won yesterday and the cheque arrived today.

congratulations to Chris Cox and to Sussexdiamond on his 5 wins. I haven't won a bean but still think it is a worthwhile cause to support. I'm glad we are making some money for the club so would urge others out there to have a go.

I have just signed up although I do have a concern with the scheme- I noticed that the Gold Bond draw is administered by Blackpool FC, do the Oystons have any involvement with this? I would not want to be putting a penny into there pockets!!

The scheme is run by Blackpool Development PLC, separate to the club, but makes a Donation to the club each month in the same way it does us, it has been going there a long time before the Oysten trouble reared it's head and will stay long after no doubt, I couldn't tell you how the money is spent at there end, all I know is that we have got a great deal that other clubs with many more subscribers than us would be envious of.

Thanks for signing up, appreciate it, spread the word if you can, get people sign up... let's get a Jackpot winner :-)

We checked this with the Blackpool Trust Secretary before we signed up to it and he said that most of their money goes to charitable causes and very little if any go to the current owners.

Thanks, hopefully that is the case. I signed up 10 days ago but haven't received my numbers yet. Do these come in the post?

Well mine certainly did. A nice pretty yellow coloured card with 7 lucky numbers on it.
