Re: Northern Premier League
He said we applied to the UCL 4 years ago but we were disappointed to be placed in Division 1 but the reason this was done was because we didn't have a senior team at the time only a youth team. Judging by our Chairman's body language I don't think he agreed with this explanation.Formic wrote:Was the UCL guy saying something about how we were allocated a place at Step 6 back in 2012 during the presentation today? Re: Northern Premier League
He said the FA placed us at step 6, not the UCL, which is surely right, the level a club plays at has been their decision for years.

We've earned our place at step 4 the right way, that's what we said we would do when we felt harshly treated by being placed at step 6.
At the end of the day that's all history now, let's move onwards and upwards

Re: Northern Premier League
Gave us a good start to life in div 1 I think, gaining promotion at the first attempt. Would have been a lot of disappointed people if we had of been in the prem and finished mid table or below. Looking back at our squad the first season that's probably the best we would have done.

Re: Northern Premier League
What he said made absolutely no sense. Apparently the only reason we were placed at Step 6 is because we were a youth team. Erm, what about King's Lynn who had nothing yet were placed at Step 5? Albeit they kept their ground.Formic wrote:Was the UCL guy saying something about how we were allocated a place at Step 6 back in 2012 during the presentation today? I was annoyed at the time but looking back now i've thoroughly enjoyed all 3 UCL seasons, so on that basis I don't hold any grudges.
Back to the orignal topic of the thread, Stamford are now in the relegation zone in the Northern League Premier, which helps our case a bit if we want to be in the Southern League as they would fill one of the voids in NLD1S. I like Stamford as a club but they're probably at nose bleed level as it is as historically they're a Step 4/5 club. They haven't won a home game in the league since they moved to their new stadium in December, but they've got to win next Saturday at home to Witton Albion if they want any chance of staying up.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
