Jake Newman and others
Looks like Jakes season is over. He has an ankle injury and is unlikely to feature again this season.
Genuinely sorry for him as he has had a great season and I was looking forward to seeing him against us. At least he can now watch all our remaining games as a supporter.
We have still got Quincy and Elliot Dent to play against us for Sileby and maybe Alfie for Cooks, but he does not seem to have been in their team lately.

I think lots of our ex players want to play for us and not against. ;)sussexdiamond wrote:Looks like Jakes season is over. He has an ankle injury and is unlikely to feature again this season.

Welly must be looking forward to the end of the season. Budget slashed by over 50%, forced to play half a team of U18's (while good players that's a big step up), goalie sent off in the week and the managers leaving at the end of the season.
Don't forget Aynsley is at Welly as well.

Re: Jake Newman and others
I was surprised when Jake wished us good luck, as he had pretty big chip on his shoulder not long ago.

And Mark Hewitt, no sign of Alfie recently don`t know if he`s injured?SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Josh Thomson and Danny Harmon are also playing for Cooks.
Re: Jake Newman and others
He made the rather silly comment about how much he`d learnt when he first went to the Ploppies, but to be fair to him, he possibly got a little caught up in the hype generated by them up the road once they had signed our striker. Since then he has taken the "Newman watch and Flamingo" comments in good faith and even joked himself about the one foot issue. I`m sure he keeps in contact with some at our Club and it would have been a genuine good luck comment. If he is there on 11th he may struggle to contain a smile if the result goes our way.diamondgeezer1 wrote:I was surprised when Jake wished us good luck, as he had pretty big chip on his shoulder not long ago.

That's a shame, Jake and Alfie were so good to us, wishing a speedy recovery to Jake.
