You lot haven't seen any wheels from Holbeach have you?

Post by Woodford Dad »

Former Harrowby manager Jay Harrison has resigned as assistant manager of Holbeach United, after only recently joining the club.

Their sole intention this season was to get to the Vase final.

I said before Christmas that I thought they would decline promotion if they were offered it, now it looks like they are doing all they can to make that academic

Quote from Harrison "I don't want to go into too much detail about my reasons for leaving but I feel that when we lost in the FA Vase a lot of the lads felt the season was over and to lose top players like Jake Duffy, Lee Dube, Matt Nolan, Danny Spencer, Kern Miller etc and not replace them with other lads is tough, and to make things worse we've lost Jonny Allen, Stacey Cartwright, Danny Steadman and Matt Warfield all to injury. With not being able to bring my own players in I felt it was time to go!"

Hasn't he picked up a couple of manager of the month awards at PNS this season?

Couldnt do it on his own due to work commitments, and the fact he wants to go to Cheltenham for 8 days to watch the horseracing.

Doesn't explain why players are flying out the door left right and centre though. You have to assume that the budget has been monumentally cut otherwise the fleeing players would have been replaced.

A few days ago I said I felt sorry for the Club, can I please retreat that. They appear to have all been in it together, committee, management & players. Chasing the Wembley dream, well it's just turned into
a very expensive nightmare. Did they ever want promotion or just spend £150 on the application as a smoke screen to convince the UCL they had some interest in the league. As big Jim stated today "we are going up". And as a relative outsider it's nice to see real life long Diamonds fans smiling and enjoying what's happening. Step 4 here we come.
