Promotion
Promotion
When the details were published about which clubs had submitted their intention to seek promotion, there is the grading issue that is considered for each club. Do we have any information to see if all of the clubs that applied, are in a position in their respective leagues to gain promotion ?
I am aware that some teams may win the league , but, have not applied for promotion, or may be denied because of ground grading.
If we finished 2nd, what are the chances of being promoted ?

Like to finish as champions
But as for finished 2nd that would depend on who wins the league, if Holbeach won the league we wouldn't be promoted finishing 2nd. If anyone other team won the league I believe we would be promoted finishing 2nd.
Because only us and Holbeach have apply for promotion.
Re: Promotion
Thanks for that UpDiamonds, it wasn't so much about us and Holbeach, more about what situation other teams from different leagues, who have applied, find themselves in. If they meet the criteria, but have an awful season and finish 6th, 7th or lower, does that open up another place for a team that meets the criteria from another league ?
Just as if we and Holbeach had an awful season and ended up 5th, 6th or lower, would we get promoted, this year ?

Re: Promotion
Well we don't know if Holbeach will pass the grading or even withdraw their application, if either of those happened even 3rd place would be good enough for promotion.
No one can be promoted from lower than 3rd.
No one can be promoted from lower than 3rd.

Re: Promotion
Based on previous seasons, the FA likes to reprieve teams from above if no-one from the lower league are in a position to be promoted. Its unlikely that the goings on in other leagues will have any bearing on us.FOOTYMAN wrote:Thanks for that UpDiamonds, it wasn't so much about us and Holbeach, more about what situation other teams from different leagues, who have applied, find themselves in. Re: Promotion
Firstly, there is a March 31st deadline for getting the ground up to scratch. The leagues/FA will inspect soon after that, but be under no illusions - Holbeach will pass the inspection, even if they fail to meet all the criteria. We already know from the likes of Thurnby this season, that the ground grading rules are actually very flexible, and the fact that a club doesn't quite comply with them all is usually overlooked (but we still have to jump through hoops to comply with rules that don't even exist, but hey ho).
One team from every step 5 league will be promoted, as long as they have applied, passed the ground grading inspection and finish in the top 3, with the highest placed eligible applicant getting the promotion place if more than one apply. There is a very slim chance that more than one team will be promoted from the same league, but it does happen occasionally.
