A wins a win but my god we were poor again, the gearing situation is beyond a joke now. Could have been on at half time, should definitely been on when lamb Johnson went off and then got his usual 5 mins at the end. Can't see him staying for much longer. Even with 10 men we failed to dominate the game.

Think it was also a case of not taking some of our chances. Dunkley had a couple, as did Rogers and Berwick missing an open goal. With all the corners we had we had to make some of them count and it was the head of Dolman that made the difference. I think it must be rule that we must not keep a clean sheet as Deeping rarely threatened in attack. Still any win on the road is a bonus

I thought it was absolutely the right decision to bring on Tom Lorraine for EL-J after 55 minutes. He did really well, and it will be a tough decision for the management to decide whether he starts ahead of Berwick next weekend. I think today highlighted that we have an unbalanced squad - we were lucky Bunting was able to last 90 minutes (I thought he had a really good game) - and we don't have much cover at the back if Brad has to play in midfield.

Good away win on a pudding of a pitch, I'll take that! Keeps the pressure on the chasing pack and with Yaxley losing and Holbeach falling another game behind, a good day at the office. Wisbech winning so convincingly is a bit of a worry, but we have to play them at the D&D so that problem is in our own hands.

Today was never going to be a classic, the minute I saw the pitch I knew that, for that reason alone I would have started with Matty rather than Elliott. I'd definitely have brought Matty on once Elliott got booked, he was looking ineffective after that. However, Peaksy has picked up another 3 points on the road so is doing something right.

When you looked at the chances we missed we could have ran out easy winners, Tommy will never have an easier chance to open his account !! As it was we made hard work of it - not pretty, but who really cares as long as we win?

The team was a little disjointed today, enforced changes didn't help, but we can't expect to have key players missing and win at a canter on a pitch like that!

I'm delighted with the win, even if it was ground out - 13 more of the same and I reckon we'll be champions !!

To give Gearing 5 mins at the end made a mockery of his 100th appearance! Enough is enough! Give the man a start.

Heavy pitch, cold weather, physical oppositio, ELJ was rubbish again!

I suspect Gearing to be gone by the end of the season, but can someone explain why he hasn't started? Please tell me and the fans? Is he injured, has he thrown a paddy? Just tell us! ELJ has been poor for ages yet gets chance after chance. Bringing Lorraine on for ELJ was almost like a big "up yours" to the fans! (Granted he played ok).

Boring as it is if Gearing goes he'll be missed badly. Get him on the pitch....VIVA MATT GEARING!

I think it may be the end for Matty, and he was given his 100th appearance as a gesture of his services to the club. No one at the club is surely happy that a player, such as him, gets the odd 5 minutes here and there.
I hope I am wrong with my thinking. :!:
