To be fair you can`t blame him for trying anything. Not sure about the fixtures falling well for us, Holbeach, Sleaford, Wisbech, Yaxley and Cogenhoe on the spin a few weeks back.
You may possibly be reading it all wrong Trek, maybe he has looked at their forthcoming fixtures Cogenhoe, Wisbech, Yaxley, Kempston, Thurnby, Us and Deeping and his comments are in fact the hoisting of one f off big white flag, followed by walking away from football for a year then a swift return to ummmm Holbeach with an even bigger war chest, maybe even big enough to afford Tidsey up front, and Fat Pat Payment as his No 2.

I am surprised he has the time, what with his pantomime commitments with Snow White and the other six!!

We've been playing under the pressure of expectancy (relative to the UCL) ever since we re-formed so i can't see his 'only ours to lose' angle having much impact with our management team & players but can't blame him for trying. He's also probably trying to get his excuses in early to whoever's splashing the cash up there; they were pre-season favourites and - mainly due to his disciplinary problems, exposed at the D&D - they've been unable to handle it.

The way the fixtures have worked out they basically face a series of win or bust matches between now and the end of Jan. If they win them all fair play to them and it may well be theirs to lose at that point, but even one slip-up over the next 5-6 weeks is likely to be one too many.

Not ours to loose as should they beat us at their place, unlikely as it may seem we could have one draw other than that, win all our other games and not win the league. I'm with Peaksy on this one, concentrate on what we are doing & don't worry about the rest. After all if we win all our remaining games we all know who wins the league.

It looks like our old friend Pat Rayment might have done us a favour by letting two of his squad play for Wisbech against Holbeach on Boxing Day - http://www.spaldingvoice.co.uk/sport/ra ... ce-tigers/

Now why doesn't that surprise me? Two peas in a pod, those two.

Albeit, an odd shaped pod.

Now mind games from Chand.

http://www.spaldingvoice.co.uk/sport/ch ... ds-favour/

From the 'Holbeach Bugle'.

“I think a few people had written us off a couple of weeks ago,” said the 2012/13 UCL title-winning boss. “Saturday’s results probably shifted things in our favour for the first time in a while.
“Mind you, the league are doing their best to keep Rushden and Diamonds top.
“Other than Yaxley, we’ve not had a midweek game for ages – while they seem to be able to to arrange games whenever they like. Take New Year’s Day, for example.
“I’ll be honest, I’ve been on the other side of that situation when we won the title and Spalding United had to play catch up. We’ve just got to keep this amazing run going and keep the pressure on.
“But there’s pressure on them, too. In my opinion, their fans are way too vocal on social media. I’ve seen them calling for (boss) Andy Peaks to go and all sorts.
“I think he’s doing a great job and is a top man. The fans are the club’s own worst enemy.”

Let's hope Chand's pathetic wind up attempts have the same effect as Fat Payment's last season.
