They did extensive testing on the floodlights in the days between Boxing Day and today. The floodlights worked fine. The problem today sounds different to that suffered on Boxing Day.FOOTYMAN wrote:What was the reason behind sticking with a 3pm kick-off, rather than an earlier 1pm start.?
This would resolve having to rely on the floodlights.

The problem is they are sh*t. Even when they are on they have got to be some of the worst in the league. If we are to remain at the Dog and Duck for the foreseeable then surely looking at replacing them is a must. Clubs like Thrapston, Whitworths and Cogenhoe have far better flood lights than those at the Dog and Duck.

Thank god the lights stayed on once we were winning, other than the first twenty minutes of the second half when the tempo was much better we were poor again. And why did he take jospeh off? It was nice to have some pace up front and I thought he was causing problems.

I think Scotty had started to tire and Turner did well when he came on - Scott could have had a hat trick today easily, two glaring misses!!
Stuttering performance - but win when you're not at your best, that's the stuff of Champions !! We'll have to up our game on Saturday though, Deeping will be a different proposition!!
Thought we huffed and puffed mostly, the minute we upped our game and played at a higher tempo we earned 2 goals, then we eased off again - why?
Still, it's another 3 points and on we roll. Floodlights are a pain in the butt, but we need to get them sorted ASAP and I'm sure folk are on the case, was it a 2pm ko Saturday announced, couldn't hear clearly!!

Nice to start the new year with 3 points - the lads deserved it and well done to whoever worked hard to rescue the lights situation. The wind made it difficult and the first half we were a bit flat but the first 20 mins of the 2nd half we were very incisive and created enough chances in that period to win comfortably.
Big day of rest needed tomorrow - let's build on the positives of today and see off Deeping on Saturday.

My understanding of the floodlights problem is that there is too much load for the meter. When put in it was just for the floodlights but since then both the hospitality suite and the burger bar have both been put through the same meter, hence it gets too hot and trips out. Might be better to turn off the lights to hospitality if no one's in there as was the case in the second half. It might be we have to get quotes then set up a fund with Wellingborough in order to get sorted.
Game wise we created plenty but it was a bit patchy and a win's a win. Had to laugh as someone claimed we were paying £2.5k a week for players LOL. Be gutted if it was that low mwuh-ha-ha

Also follow the example set by Boston Town and switch off all electric heaters in the Club Shop, Dale's Bar and WTFC Social club.Three of Diamonds wrote:Might be better to turn off the lights to hospitality if no one's in there as was the case in the second half.
