I sincerely hope it's not true and hope to see both Confue and Ashton in the starting XI on Boxing Day.
i don't think thats a rule to be fair, i think it's probably more if you lose your shirt and the person who comes in plays well they should keep the shirt.

I don't think Ashton not playing was the issue yesterday anyway.

We lost a match, we will probably lose more in the future but so will the others.

Lets put it to bed and go again on boxing day

Wisbech beat Huntingdon yesterday and next play Holbeach, so plenty of twists and turns to come yet.

That ground yesterday was diabolical. The tea hut/room would struggle to pass any council hygiene checks.....there was even an open door direct to the gents toilet!!

When we were setting up the Radio kit a gentlemen was counting the seats and making notes about the place. I asked who he was and he told me he was the Vice Chair of the UCL.So maybe they are looking into the conditions at Dakyn Road.

Just a thought who accepted/placed Thurnby in the UCL. Was it a FA Leagues committee decision? or did Thurnby apply?

It was the first time I'd seen a urinal in a broom cupboard. Those of an 'ample girth' would struggle to turn round.

Had a pleasant chat with their Chairman who was assisting with car parking. Apparently all is not well with their 'arrangement' with Leicester Nirvana. Did anyone notice that they still carry the old 'Thurnby Rangers' badge on their shirts whilst all track suits are branded 'Leicester Nirvana' ?

Very disappointing yesterday. It seemed like a big pitch (wide maybe) with a lot of space to exploit but we lacked experience and "craft" in the right areas due to a combination of players out injured, and, lets face it, poor team selection (Ashton???). For instance, it was very noticeable that Butt didn't push up or overlap Lamb-Johnson when we had the ball on the right, and when we were defending L-J didn't always work back into the space to give Butt some cover. Not necessarily either at real fault - just lacking experience and confidence.
Confue definitely the biggest miss. We lacked his energy and movement in midfield badly. Also, Lorraine works hard but he is nowhere as effective as Dunkley. We have to get Dunkley fit and starting games ASAP. As things stand, I don't think we have quite enough in the team to be confident of going to Holbeach and winning, so we have a problem.

I think we saw with Buckingham Town at Manor Fields that the ground grading is something the suits at the FA and in the league committees interpret to their own aims.

However, the paucity of facilities did serve to demonstrate that a club without a lot of resources can still beat one with apparently every advantage off the field - so I think the Thurnby staff deserve plenty of praise for that.

Did I miss the memo when we were deducted 100 points for something?

Look at the table again, look at our results, average out those over the rest of the season.

On the plus side shortages of candidates to play Scrooge in the Diamonds panto are unfounded.

There really is no pleasing some of you is there?

So fans aren't allowed to criticize the team when it loses? I didn't go yesterday but from reading this thread there's hardly any OTT reactions, just constructive criticism. What's wrong with that?!

This is a message board where everyone is going to have a different opinion. From what I have read people have said the truth. There has been nothing posted that ain't right on the game. At the end of the day, it's positive criticism that shows passion and support rather than the bad day at the office, let's go again boxing day attitude.

Perhaps people have seen that yes its still an 8 point gap and still top of the league, but means nothing if holbeach win their remaining games, making the trip to their place a more nervy one, slightly more so that we didn't hold out for that point Saturday, which could be costly come the end of the season
