It was abundantly clear from the other end that it wasn't a foul, so quite what the referee saw I have no idea. Can you believe he actually consulted with his linesman before sending him off. Laughable.

Much as it pains me to say it you make a very good point Dave. Sure in defense of the Ref as they will feel they have to be, the authorities would claim Sam showed intent to foul as is clear by his body shape, and it was only due to him mistiming a bad tackle that it resulted in it being a very good one, but that was pure fluke, all the above is covered under Rule FA/BS2000. Presume a decision will be made upon confirmation of what Mr Anderson put in his report, after all with some of his interpretations on Sat he may have it down as serious foul play or violent conduct and carrying a 3 match ban, if it`s only a 1 match ban if we appeal and loose can the ban be increased? if so may be as well to take the hit, only thing to suffer is his previous unblemished record, but i`m sure over the coming years he has a genuine bad one in his locker so that will go anyway.

Having seen the highlights again, Bunting's challenge was certainly quite reckless, he does slide in like that from time to time, so not a terrible decision by the ref, though I think on another occasion he might have gotten away with a yellow, the conditions and the dive of the player didn't help him. Second, as said, looks like a great tackle, so very poor decision that. Third, it was unnecessary by Dunks, especially with 9 men, but as for a second yellow did he really need to produce yet another red card and potentially ruin the game and the result? Again, no common sense. I can't remember what the first one for Dunks was for, but based on the game overall, it seemed unfair on us that we ended up with 8 and they didn't have a single man sent off.

And its even more frustrating when you think of all those dirty teams we've played against in the UCL who got away with a few yellows and nothing more, sure we were a little careless at times in our challenging and there perhaps a few too many lunging challenges in those sorts of conditions, but we're certainly not a dirty team as 3 reds and several yellows would suggest.

I found him on a certain social network site and asked him the question direct, what was he thinking when he sent Sam Brown off. Needless to say he didn't respond. By the looks of him he is a young lad the the FA are fast tracking through the system. Judging by this weekend he should still be refereeing U11 B sides

Granted. I think that would pass as child cruelty. Perhaps he could put the nets and corner flags out in the little kickers league!

It can. Again, it is down to the judgement of those clowns at the NFA; they can either overturn the decision and reduce or remove the suspension; uphold the original decision; or, if they believe the appeal to be frivolous, increase the suspension as punishment for wasting their precious time.

I think it's highly unlikely that an appeal against Sam's red card could be considered frivolous, but again you are relying on common sense to prevail.....

One more thing, I can't be arsed to look it up, but I think a red card for DOGSO carries a 2 match suspension.

No on Northant`s FA site a DOGSO is worthy of 1 match, we all know what it stands for but sure we could have a bit of fun suggesting other possibilities.
