Looking forward to this. Burton look a poor outfit, second bottom of UCL Div One and they lost 6-0 to mid-table Chenecks yesterday.
I wonder what sort of side we'll put out? First team players who haven't played much (Quincy/Ling/Dunkley) mixed with some of Darren Purse's team?
What's happened to Sean McBride? Is he injured?

They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Also looking forward to this. I have seen Burton this season and they are awful defensively, even by Division One standards. I am wondering ,given what looks like a lack of confidence in front of goal by our undoubtedly talented forward line, whether this might be a golden opportunity for the likes of Jason Turner to really kickstart their season?

This gives players like Greg Ling the opportunity to prove that he is good enough for AFC coming up against one of the weakest teams in the UCL. I'd certainly give Reynolds the chance to play up top alongside Dunks and hopefully see the return of Sean McBride

Any news on Rhys Redding? I assume he will not be fit for this game. But it will be good to have Quincy back in action.

Who is Ansu? He scored hat trick for under 21's on Saturday and has now scored 5 times this season.

Nathaniel Ansu. I saw him get the hat-trick on saturday, and he could / should have had six. He made a great run down the left before cutting in and firing just over early on, then showed some neat finishing skills for his hat-trick before narrowly missing the target with only the keeper to beat a couple of times in the second half. He appeared a few times for the U21s last season, and is now 19, and also plays in left midfield / defence. He and Jeffrey Obeng were the stand-out players in the team on Saturday, with Jake Reynolds being rather restricted in midfield.sussexdiamond wrote:Who is Ansu? See on Ploppynet some clown is trying to rally the troops to turn up tonight and get behind their landlords, presume if it`s still the same as it was 2 years ago there, and you go into the bar without going into the ground or paying, getting behind BPW actually means turn up at the bar and behave like a bunch of prats. Or they may be on Manager and Player watch as at the moment they want to get rid of most of what they have there.

I'll be aiming to do a Radio Diamonds broadcast tonight, dongle permitting, although I might be flying solo unless anyone wants to join as a guest maybe?
We'd love to get more people involved, maybe as a guest initially just to sit alongside the main commentator chipping in views and opinions, like the summariser you get on Radio 5 or the TV coverage.
We do also need people to help with filming the highlights which is just really point and follow the ball. The clever stuff is done by Jon turning 100 minutes of action into 3 to 4 minutes of highlights. To be honest we really could do with someone with the right skills to do that editing as it is a real burden on Jon at the moment. Way beyond my capabilities but there must some people out there who could and would like to do it.
Anyway, let's enjoy our trip back to Latimer Park and see if we can make a run at this competition for the first time. Have we won a game in it yet?
