1-0 defeat. Whatever the performance, that's a bloody good effort from the lads!

And Cogenhoe lost also to PNS. Yaxley beat Thurnby

We and Huntingdon are the only 100% now.

Always disappointing to lose any game but it was a big ask to beat a Step 3 club on their own ground. We had our chances and on another day we could very likely have won. It was a hard fought game for both sides. They edged it in the second half. Either side could have won but a really good performance nonetheless. Good luck to Hendon in next round

The late arrival probably didn't help. At one point I doubted whether we would even get there!

Lets really concentrate on the league now starting at Yaxley next week.

Very disappointed (I always find going out of the FA Cup hard and an end to all those dreams of getting to the 1st round), we gave it a really good go I thought and it was a very even game overall I thought, but once they went ahead with a pretty disappointing goal from our perspective with the player taking the ball past defenders and Finlay, they didn't seem to have too many problems dealing with us and we ran out of steam by the end unfortunately. Though apart from the goal conceded, I thought we had a great game defensively, every man putting themselves on the line as you'd expect and they had a tough time breaking us down and we created plenty of chances too, but I thought we really missed the presence of Dunks today up top and Turner didn't have a great game really (though it wasn't helped by the constant hassling and shoving by their defender which the ref turned a blind eye too!). But to only lose narrowly to a team 3rd in a league 2 levels above us is a very good effort.

Though that Holbeach result has cheered me up a bit, looks like Huntingdon are going to very strong again this year!

424 was the crowd (source - FA Site), highest crowd they've played in front of this season and 200/250 of those were Diamonds.

The late arrival didn't help, ref set his stall out from that point with his refusal to allow a delayed kick off, then spent the rest of the afternoon being one of 3 wise monkeys, sorry 3 dumb half wits who took centre stage & made some bizarre decisions. Finley made no saves & picked the ball out the net once. The Hendon keeper made 2 awesome safes especially the first half one from Hendo's headed & rumour is he only signed this week on loan from Reading. Oh well that's football, had a good day out and not for the 1st time more than held our own against a team from a higher level. It's only the FA Cup back to proper business next week.

Well I didn't see many Hendon fans and would have said well over 300 Diamonds fans were there. Anyway that crowd was 100 more than that at Corby and about 80 odd more than witnessed the Aylesbury/K*ttering match. It seems that only the hardcore Ploppies fans want to travel much further than Finedon.

We arrived late due to traffic and no delay was allowed !!

However, no excuses, we gave it a monumental effort and all our lads can hold their heads high.

We lose, we move on ! Good luck to Hendon in the next round, lets just go and win the league and the FA Vase :)

I agree that's great news Holbeach losing. Excellent. Come on Diamonds all the way.
