He did come in but very late when many had left, by which time our players had eaten all the Sausages, no respect those lot! Most of the Bedford squad had to leave early, Cross being a lot quicker that he had been on the pitch, but then he was aided by crutches, some were at a fitting session at Primarni for Club kit, others were signing on in time for the local Sunday League starting this weekend, Bernie Winters had to rush off to take Schnorbitz for his evening walk, JJ the left back was outside practicing kicking the ball and keeping it within the area marked by the white lines after his two comical miss cues in front of the dugouts late on.Mat.H wrote:I did notice Bully was not in the bar after but neither was half of their players.

Probably one of the best performances I've seen from an AFC Rushden & Diamonds side, since our formation.
Was pleasantly surprised, as I wasn't expecting to make the game.
Dolman was getting some stick from some Bedford fans behind the goal, but he was immense. Confue was a contender for M.O.T.M for me.
Fazel was causing them no end of problems all night.
Should have been more though, nice little ground Bedford have, just a shame you couldn't escape the stench!!

And a sewage plant not far away either, not sure why it was so bad last night never known it like that before.diamondgeezer1 wrote:That's it!Trek wrote:Abattoir next door?diamondgeezer1 wrote:

One last pop at Bully, he visited The D&D last Friday posted a picture of the pitch and asked if the grass was going to be cut before the game, presume after last night it`s not that he wanted it cut, but wanted it left to resemble what they are used to. Paddy MacGintys goat is grazing down there this morning.

The whole team played magnificently. Certainly the best ever performance, hope we don't have to wait another 100 games though to see the likes again.
So good to see Sam and Fazel working so well together, especially in the first half.
Looking through the Prelim Round results, to date about 20 Step 4 teams were beaten by lower league teams but ours was the most outstanding result.

I went to watch St. Neots play there against Bedford during our under 18s season, and can't remember it being that bad then.Brownie wrote:

Excellent photos too - Mal must have photographed almost all those 100 games.
At least Pigman has people joining in with him on last night's photo .....
