Not too sure on the idea of walking football, but the idea of a veteran's side is a winner. Are there any leagues or organisations for it in the area? Any other teams we could line up with?

First introduced by the Community Section of Bury FC a couple of years ago and featured on the BBC. The idea is that it provides exercise without the risk of over 50's charging about with more reliance on ball skill and control. Veteran football for over 50's wouldn't have the same appeal because very fit players in their low 50's would have a distinct advantage over players 10 or more years older if running was involved.

I did suggest at the time that it might be something that the Club could consider in the future. Now where are those Shinpads?

The Duke will just want to pick it up and run (well, hobble) with it - I'm far too young ;)

It's not the picking up and running with the ball that would concern me with the Duke but that blocking he used to do with the Rockingham Rebels. Old habits die hard.
