He did indeed - he was the Long Buckby Captain when they won the UCL premier in 2011-12, with Faz and Dunks scoring a hatful of goals - http://www.longbuckbyafc.co.uk/Matchreports.aspx (select 2011-12)STAGMAN wrote:Must have played with Faz and Dunks

No idea, just noticed the Long Buckby connection and assumed he'd be looking for a club over this way. The sort of player we'd probably be looking to attract given his recent past. Must have freed up some money in the budget with all these departures. ;)Basil wrote:What position does he play BR?BartonRaz wrote:Stephen Spriggs has signed for AFC Sudbury, but former Long Buckby player and King's Lynn captain Richard Bunting has left Lynn and is a free agent.

He is a centre mid who pulls the strings, I saw him play a couple of times for Buckby and he certainly impressed!BartonRaz wrote:No idea, just noticed the Long Buckby connection and assumed he'd be looking for a club over this way. Comes from Northampton as well. I'm sure there'll be plenty of teams speaking to him though. Would be a quality acquisition, a real team man, and a captain.

Re: Steve Spriggs....
So Steve Spriggs has finally managed to play for us. What was the verdict on him from those who watched him yesterday?
If he's half as good as his old man who I saw play for Cambridge United many times (416 appearances - club record) in the late 70's/early 80's including a few seasons in the old Second Division, under Ron Atkinson/John Docherty, then he's a very useful player.

I thought he did ok . Supported his full back ( Wilkinson) well, got around the park and put in 2 or 3 excellent crosses. Too early to see the full picture but promising.
