A win's a win, but it wasn't great today, fair play to Harborough, they defended well in the first half and we looked like perhaps we weren't expecting them to be so resilient. I can't say I was too worried at halftime despite the 0-0 scoreline, we weren't creating too much, but I knew we'd find a goal from somewhere and it was nice to get a bit of luck with a penalty for once. I suspect someone will come up with the usual 'if we play like that next Saturday...', but I think its fair to say our mentality will be very different against a Conference team 3 levels above us, we'll be far more up for it that's for sure.
Nothing wrong with grinding out a few wins when you're not at your best. It's nice to know that we don't panic at 0-0 as well, it shows that we have confidence in our ability to eventually break down these sides and get the goals. Bring on Dover, the energy levels will be through the roof for that one!
I hope Dover had spies at the match today. They would have learned absolutely zilch!
Dover won 1-0 at home to Dorchester so sounds like a regular result for them. They don't score much but don't concede either.
I don't know why the criticism of the ref. What particularly did he do wrong? No argument about either penalty and it was hardly a hotly contested match. There was a referees assessor at the match so he and the linespersons were keen to impress.
First time I have ever seen two ladies running the line.
It was a tricky game which I expected. Harborough defended quiet well in the first half but I'm glad we didn't panic and kept the ball moving about. I knew second half we would break the down.
In regards to their keeper who was making his debut for them. I like everyone was going clap him off for his effort until he started mouthing off, it was great when it backfired on him he didn't know where to look and couldn't look up at the terrace. Sometimes it shows what unprofessional league we are in when I'm guessing it was their manger who swore at the terrace at the end
The first coach is filled and they were taking names and telephone numbers in the club shop before the game for a possible second coach hoping to fill it. So if anyone wants to go suggest they PM or email Stacey ASAP.

Never mind 3 points and onto Dover
Yes it was their new manager that was gesturing at the PDB at the end!! Showed a total lack of class and professionalism whatever his personal views are on RDFC and now AFC RD. Apart from that he's actually a nice guy

I did wonder why he kept calling his players by their numbers and not their names, well that explains it! I wonder what they thought of the constant shouting of 'How far do you wanna go!' and 'Squeeze!' from their new goalie behind them

A K*ttering Lad, who's played for nearly every UCL club going (some more than once)

They missed a penalty and only scored through a huge mistake from Dorchester when the 'keeper dropped the ball. Dover made it really hard for themselves during the second half, hardly amazing against bottom
Harborough came with a game plan to defend in depth, play the offside trap, leaving just one forward up front and try to hit us on the break. It mostly worked in the first half but eventually we broke it down after the break.
From then on we seemed much more comfortable without taking the game by the neck.
Not a great performance but after last Saturday I'm not surprised...a bit like after the Lord Mayor's Parade and of course a massive game next week-end to play in.
Never the less a win and 3 points.
Agreed with MOTM and was also pleased to see Sean get some time on the pitch despite a very unfortunate penalty decision against him - he does bring energy to the team.
Our last goal was a farce but the score line then did at least truly represent our dominance.
