How many times is that they have cried off? I was told they have three U18 teams so a feeble excuse that they can only raise 6 players tonight. About time the league awarded us a walk over! ;)

With the play-off being in a week's time and Oxford having cancelled three times (?) now I can't see that the league will have any option.

I, along with one or two others on the NSYL management committee, have spent half the morning in email and phone conversations regarding this game.

Had it not been for the fact that it would be unfair to both Woodford and Daventry, who both play tonight and can still overtake Diamonds, then we would have awarded the points to Diamonds.

There is no excuse for Oxford and their secretary has resigned in protest over it, but the fact remains we as a league have to be fair to the others and tell Oxford they have to play on Monday.

Now, if they don`t, then the points WILL be awarded to Diamonds and neither Daventry or Woodford could complain then.

The simplest thing would be for both Woodford and Daventry to lose tonight!! Bu I can`t see that somehow.

As a manager I wouldn`t want to have the league `handed` to me, I would want to `win it` on the pitch and I`m sure Diamonds` management will feel the same.

No consolation I Know, but Oxford will be well out of pocket over this - and this from a league that rarely issues fines!!

Thanks for that Steve.

What happens if they can't get a team up for Monday?

Dave, I think Steve's forth sentence clarifies that.

Admission will actually be free, but we'll be doing a bucket collection. Teas/coffees/soft drinks/chocolate bars etc will be available for purchase from the snack bar.
