Remember also that at the time we knew little of Cousins's links with the whole Essex mafia gang. Nothing of Beasants, Rolls, the whole Cambridge?Weymouth saga. At the time Cousins seemed like the only alternative to going completely out of existence. At least we had a few more seasons and saw some good football from Azza and a few others.
Good post. Even IF by some miracle ktfc pull through business is about people and look at the people in the backround involved. Theres hidden agendas everywhere and i aint got time for hide and seek . I wasnt sure about fans clubs a couple of years ago i thought there would be too much naivety and not enough sound business sense. But most fans clubs certainly come across as being well run and clubs fans have proper say and ownership. Been a real eye opener for me thats for sure.
glad to have been of help 8-)
The best thing is knowing that if it isn't right, you can change things.

We are very very lucky with the board we have at the moment, none of us has an ego, and we all realise that we are just holding the reigns for the future generations of AFCR&D fans, hence the emphasis on the youth & community teams, without them, we would just be like all the other local clubs, but with a focus on the future, we will have stability and sustainability 8-) 8-)

Good Luck Paul

Whilst I don't disagree with what you are saying, Paul, I think it only fair to make the point that the old Trust was running a Club that at the time was a member of the Football League, and for that reason alone there were many issues which were subject to a high degree of confidentiality, more so than the level which we are currently at.
Also, the handover from Griggs was a lot more involved than many people realise, with a lot of legal and financial information that needed to be kept confidential.
With the benefit of hindsight there are things which could have been done differently and better, but even then I think the eventual outcome would probably have been the same.

I appreciate that might have been the case in the early days, Martin, when you were actively involved. I was particularly thinking about the last 4-6 months of their tenure when all rank and file fans were kept out of the loop. In the summer prior to Cousin's acquisition of the club we were told that we were financially OK and within budget and I recall tackling a prominent Trust board member in October 2006 and said that the Trust must communicate more with the fans to told 'when we have something to tell you we will'. Barely a month later it was announced that the club had been passed to Cousins and everything was basically a fait accompli and the fans were merely asked to rubber stamp the deal. Perhaps there was little that the fans could have done, at that stage, to prevent the threat of possible administration.
Anyway that is water under the bridge now and I'm confident that the structure of AFCRD is entirely different and it's clear that all members are being kept informed with first class communication from the board. ;)

I think that Pickering has entered into an arrangement with a developer to purchase the Rockingham Road site. Whether the site has formally been sold is another matter. I also recall seeing a planning document as far back as 2006 issued by K*ttering Borough Council which earmarked the site as one suitable for residential development with 49 dwellings mentioned.

On poppynet they think that is another lie from him, as they say they where offered another lease for RR, he then turned it down, that's when RR was put up for sale to developers, hence in the paper he is being economical with the truth, again!
