Re: Desperate measures.....
I wonder if the Southern League will suspend them for a few weeks to help them sort things out whilst not having to worry about fixtures. I read this happened to St Albans a few seasons ago. Or do they just want K*ttering out ASAP to avoid messing up the league - Bashley would be pleased if they managed to scrape on until the end of the season!

If this happened whilst they were still in the Conference they would have been kicked out PDQ.Sara Pascoe wrote:I wonder if the Southern League will suspend them for a few weeks to help them sort things out whilst not having to worry about fixtures.

I'm glad we didn't have to experience this though. Saturday was probably a painful but head held high ending for them. Having to watch more of it though, is humiliation. 7-0 should be a book-ending, to continue it after that is just undignified.

Paul and the Duke are right -it is no use arguing over something which is long gone. With AFC we are now in a much stronger position than at that dark time. Remember also that at the time we knew little of Cousins's links with the whole Essex mafia gang. Nothing of Beasants, Rolls, the whole Cambridge?Weymouth saga. At the time Cousins seemed like the only alternative to going completely out of existence. At least we had a few more seasons and saw some good football from Azza and a few others.

I agree. Without Cousin's intervention in November 2006 RDFC would have gone into administration and the RDFC Trust would have lost control of the club.Cotty wrote: At the time Cousins seemed like the only alternative to going completely out of existence. The whole thing is pissing me off now, there isn't a K*ttering Town fan left with an inch of moral fibre in their bodies.
The club is rotten to the core, they ran up 1.2 million in debts, they celebrated wiping the slate clean and have now racked up another 200k, events have had to be cancelled, there is a wedding booked for next week, the nursery have had to bring generators in, the players haven't been paid and local business have lost money.
Yet all they care about is watching 9 or 10 players play on Saturday "for one last time".
The whole thing ****ing stinks now :x

Good post. Even IF by some miracle ktfc pull through business is about people and look at the people in the backround involved. Theres hidden agendas everywhere and i aint got time for hide and seek . I wasnt sure about fans clubs a couple of years ago i thought there would be too much naivety and not enough sound business sense. But most fans clubs certainly come across as being well run and clubs fans have proper say and ownership. Been a real eye opener for me thats for sure.Cotty wrote:Paul and the Duke are right -it is no use arguing over something which is long gone. Re: Desperate measures.....
When we had out first fans meeting at RDFC about setting up a Supporters Trust back in 2005, I recall the comments made by Dave Boyle representing Supporters Direct who said that within every club's fan base there would be a whole wealth of business experience and other relevant expertise to call upon which would be better than that within most club's small band of directors. I think the secret of success for fans run clubs is communication which, unfortunately, was sadly lacking within the old RDFC Trust and something that has been rectified by our board at AFCRD.paulk wrote: I wasnt sure about fans clubs a couple of years ago i thought there would be too much naivety and not enough sound business sense.
