it seems to be a current trend on here to ridicule those of us who went to Nene Park and enjoyed not only the football but the facilities and buildings. Like many, I would not set foot in the place during its present ownership and occupancy but let us not tarnish our cherished memories. When it first appeared Nene Park was a joy to behold. The stands, the seating, the Diamond Centre, the hedges and flowerbeds, and even the owls. Many of our best Diamonds' memories are inextricably linked with the ground. Let us not denigrate Max's dream for the area with sour thoughts from recent developments. We should be proud of what was achieved there. I acknowledge that the team is more important than where it plays and that you cannot live in the past but the history of RDFC cannot be divorced from the ground.

I don't think people are ridiculing those with fond memories of Nene Park, or those who enjoyed going, because I am certainly one of them! It's those that went to NP after RDFC went bust and continued to visit even though the scum were playing there, those that literally went because of the stadium, not the team.

I don't think anyone is ridiculing those RDFC fans who had happy memories of the performances on the green stuff whilst watching from top class facilities. However, we are laughing at people like our K*ttering friend and a few others who felt that the facilities were the be all and continued to watch football in the stadium irrespective on who the new tenants are.

Edit - UD beat me to it! ;)

Ladak is saying in the ET that the club has managed to rack up £200k of debt since the CVA in the summer. I really do not comprehend how that is possible.

I live in Brackley, I know the club are actively trying to improve that, it has some nice ground improvements planned which will hopefully get the crowds up.
