Yeah I would have said between 800 and 1000 if people stood side by side around a standard football pitch, but if people stand behind others then you could get more but it obviously depends on how much room there is. Though do we know what sort of preparations R&H have in place if the crowd does exceed expectations, I seem to remember my uni town's club limiting the capacity to 1700 for a big title decider cause the ground was run down and falling apart. The crowd will be high but its a good job this isn't an end of the season game, otherwise we'd have a hell of a crowd turning up!TheIncognitoKid wrote:Surely if people stand all the way round the pitch, you could reach a thousand?AdamSRJFC wrote:I was coaching there at the start of the season (with an AFC team I hasten to add!), and I cannot see how they can manage to fit in 700+ people at minimum! There is the main stand, which is a dump, and a smaller stand with around 80 seats, so this'll be an interesting one, and a good game too
And will this be R&H's highest ever attendance? Though I imagine the record for Hayden road is quite high?

Mobile bollard is now my favourite description of an American football player. :lol:Trek wrote:Were you one that was allowed to touch the ball or was your role merely a mobile bollard?

You should call up the Spoons beforehand and get them to set up a big banquet table.Duke of Wimbourne wrote:Plan is to start at the Spoons for brekkie about 11.00ish, up to the station for about 12.00ish, then on to the Rose, then the Wheaty, then the Ath if it's open.............chips at Hayden road, then INVAISIOB FIXTURE    ...............You ain't seen me right?

I'm sure there will be no problem even if there was an attendance of 1500, there are some terraced steps on one side which is rare in the UCL. I would think it holds far more than the likes of Thrapston or Irchester where one side is unused due to the cricket pitch.

Only the Yanks could invent a game call it 'Football' and then only allow two players on each team to actually kick the pig skin.

Hey!
1) American football is an awesome game.
2) More than two players can kick the ball, it's just that due to not wanting to give away possession the ball's only ever punted on 4th down with a special punter. In college games the quarterback often punts. ;)

I stand corrected. I've only ever seen the specialist punter and goal kicker put foot to ball. So you are saying the Duke may have in fact kicked the ball in anger? Still think he was a mobile bollard.
