557 I think wasn't it, personally I didn't think it looked that many less than the Thrapston game but still very decent considering it was only a qualifying round and I presume the highest of the round. It was disappointing we let them back into it, but at the end we clearly deserved it far more as Fakenham were poor and it was a relief that we finally broke them down and scored a few goals by the end, the 3rd in particular with Hopey heading onto Taylor was particularly well worked. Bring on Yaxley then, only 7 ties to win to get to wembley now
The addition of Gilsenan has been a good one IMO as he covers every blade of glass and his experience level is great for the younger lads. I think Morgan deserves a start now, caused problems agin when he was introduced but it may be in the wide position as its not gunna be long until Newman becones a regular
We were lucky to win today whilst the match was at 1-1. Fakenham were much the better side at the start of the second half and deserved their equalisier. We should have been about 4-0 up at half time, though! Once our 2nd goal was scored, I think the final score was a true reflection of the game.
On a negative note, if things don't change there is going to be a bad reputation following the club about. Chants at the start of the match were very derogatory towards Fakenham, as if there was the expectation that AFC R&D were above the opposition. Should have waited until 1-0 or soething until these started.
Something was thrown at the fat Fakenham fan when he was dancing in front of the Terrace. It might not have been anything dangerous, but it's not going to help the club's cause!
Also, one Fakenham player was tackled in front of the dugouts. It was a foul. It was a free-kick. The way Andy Peaks got into the player whilst he was on the floor was totally inappropriate. The guy had not dived, so Peaks hadn't really got a case.
If these final two points continue and it is witnessed by more people, crowds will drop and for one it isn't something that I would want my club to be associated with.
And also, the fixture cards being given out before the game were much appreciated, however I did spot an error on them, Eynesbury Rovers on the 24th November is Home not Away as stated on the card.

I thought that was just light-hearted stuff after the fat guy had started singing at 0-0?

It was, but something was still thrown at him. It doesn't matter what it was.
