Corby lost 4-0 and the Zombies drew 1-1. At this rate they'll be in positive points by mid-November...

I went along to the New Eyrie today to see if my local team could beat the Poppies, and I have to have a little sympathy for the Poppies fans if that sort of football is what they are having to watch week-in / week-out. It reminded me of Histon in their darkest days - all hoofball / long throws / beanpole centre backs winning everything in the air etc. The busiest person was the guy having to retrieve footballs from the local scenery, with both teams resorting to agricultural clearances many times.

Although it was a decent crowd by Bedford standards I expected to see more Poppies fans than there were, given they might boycott home games, this was an easy trip down the A6. I also expected a few anti-Ladak songs, but the two guys from Bedford who did all their singing were easily more vocal.

Even their kit looked like Histon's and their number three taking all the long throws was in the Gareth Gwillim mode.

I noticed their shirts are still sponsored by Ritchie Jeune's company - I wonder how long it will be before Mr Ladak decides to advertise the Tooting Popular Front instead ?
