This is interesting. I can see no problem with the rules outlined in the FA document? Have we been rejected because there are more teams entered than places available - and we lose on a tie-breaking rule?

Entry into the Vase first isn`t a prerequisite to acceptance into the FA Youth Cup.

Disappointingly, Steve Clark (competitions secretary at the FA - and name dropping again!!) told me we were in both the Vase and Youth Cup some time back (assuming we were accepted into a Step 6 league), so somewhere along the line the Youth committee have cut the entry numbers - I`ll find out!!

Just received a response from Steve Clark (competitions secretary at the FA)....

Hi Steve

Your club’s application to enter the FA Youth Cup was considered by the FA Youth Committee and as your club did not complete in The FA Cup, Trophy or Vase last season in accordance with Competition Rule 5(a), the entry could not be accepted.

Your club’s application to enter the FA Vase for Season 2012/13 was accepted and therefore, your club will be eligible to enter The FA Youth Cup for next season (2013/14).

Hope this helps

Regards
Steve
