Election results...
Re: Election results...
I must admitt i felt awkward with the voting because i know that all that 10 have all put a lot into the club and have the club at heart but i do understand the reason for it, i hope and believe that the unelected people will be coopted onto the committee

lets be honest, in a small community like this its more than likely going to be who you know or who your friend is, if it was just picking people by name ...

You're probably right although each candidate did have a sort of 'manifesto'.mattreddan wrote:lets be honest, in a small community like this its more than likely going to be who you know or who your friend is, if it was just picking people by name ...
To be totally honest I voted for the 6 that I knew - either personally or from on here - and of the remaining 4 I just picked two at random. Like I said earlier, I think everyone could have / will bring something to the table, which made it such a hard choice.

Re: Election results...
I know John and Bob, and I think they would be a great loss to the Club and the Board if they weren't co-opted by popular demand. If the thought was that all ten needed to be on the Board in some capacity, but eight was what was required by the Constitution, maybe we should have said "Vote for eight people randomly, because that's what we have to do - those with the lowest votes will be automatically co-opted anyway!"
Then we could have said that, should (randomly-elected) board members drop out, for some reason, then the co-opts should be given those places in turn in order of their own original (random) vote - no election required until we're down to eight... then have a proper election.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank evryone that voted for me, and everyone that didn't 8-)
At the end of the day, the club is what all the candidates have at heart and we all want to succeed.
The constitution calls for an elected board of 8 members with the option to co-opt more people up to a total of 12, now once the board has had it's first meeting and decided which people will have responsiblity for what roles. they will see if there are any lack of skills in certain areas,
They will then decide who needs to be co-opted to fill these positions and ensure that the board has all the right skill sets.
This may mean that people who have not put their heads above the parapet yet, will step forward if they possess the right skills, e.g lawyer, tax expert etc
I would like to congratulate all the successful candidates, and I am certain that they will do an excellent job of representing the members at this exciting time, they will make a great team and they have my full support 8-)
Onwards and upwards people, not long now until we know our fate in the football pyramid...........I can't wait until next season, although this one has been a breath of fresh air too, with the lads providing all of us with a bit of excitement and the Cup Final to look forward to.

When myself and a couple of my friends who since spoke about our choices voted, your candidate speech didn't have a photo next too it, most of the others if not all did. I know you as Bobos/Duke of wimbourne and I know who you are in person but we didn't know your actual full name.

So do I  :lol:Duke of Wimbourne wrote:I demand a re-count
Bob has a great face for radio, we decided it was in the interests of child safety (the poor little souls would be scared half to death) that his picture wasn't posted on the net ;)
I agree with everything he's said above, Bob and myself had a long chat about stuff yesterday, rest assured everyone has the club at heart and will be looking to utilise all in one way or another, we need to have our first Board meeting and agree our future strategy.
My thanks to everyone who voted for me, your support is very much appreciated, I hope I can deliver the high level of performance that the club and supporters deserve
