What a "kick in the teeth" that paltry turnout must have been to those few people who really want to save their club, and who have been trying to work on a rescue plan. Even the target of 2000 was only at the level of the figure they said they'd need to make Nene Park pay, and after appeals for a one-off "show you really back the club" turnout they can not even manage half that.

When the Diamonds were in trouble it was notable how all the fans were united in the cause, but the Poppies seem to have so many fans who spend all their time saying why they aren't getting behind the club, whatever the issues, and seem content to let it crumble.

Rolls isn't the answer, there's only one real viable alternative but they're still dragging their heels flogging a dead horse.

The Bizzare world of George Rolls continues, he has given the managment team at Weymouth new 5 year contracts.

From the Weymouth Forum:-

"It's a measure of how good a job he has done at trying to (and succeeding in) ripping the club apart to such an extent that something that would have been incredible a few years back is, well, just another day at Weymouth Football club...

Here is a man who supposedly has nothing to do with the club but obviously does. He has lied, stolen, deceived and manipulated throughout his tenure. The bloke walks around the ground every home game milling around, sticking his fingers up and laughing his fat head off before sloping back unopposed to help himself to the day's takings. He's clever alright and knows what he's doing, only sycophantic sympathisers and gutless yesmen are allowed to get close to him it would appear.

Why hasn't the trust/supporters club/whatever it is nowadays rallied over the past two weeks and at least provided a voice of sanity as this muppet continues to make a mockery of the club? "

Surely the Ploppies would be better off if he doesn't get involved at NP?

Rolls will, errrm, roll into town and they will soon forget whats happened, there will be a pile of promises and claims of what will happen in the future, "we'll sweat the assets", "invest in the team" etc etc.........you know, the kind of stuff we were fed on, oh well, they deserve eachother. Saved for another day is one way of putting it but I do honestly feel sorry for the genuine football fan who will, ultimately, get shafted !!

The CVA rumour probably has some legs, if I were a supplier to the club I think I'd be asking for cash upfront from now on (if they aren't already) as I'd probably be looking at getting 5p on the £1 very soon. If I were a Ploppy fan I wouldn't be too confident of BSP or BSN/S football next season, and if there isn't I hope for their sake Mr Rolls has deep pockets and is prepared to dig deep into it, NP will suck the blood out of them.

The crowd last night was pitiful considering their plight and the potential of a new owner, I would have thought that a club with all of that history (as we're often told) would have been packing them in from the rafters ;) FGR are never a pull, we only got about the same number last season, but I really thought with the new owner rumour they could have mustered a few more. Guess Ladick has really knocked the stuffing out of them !!

The Poppies fans seem to think Ladak has left the club, so unless the anticipated Rolls takeover is announced in the next few days, and he comes in alongside a wealthy investor, one wonders how long it will be before Cousins changes the locks at Nene Park due to non-payment of rent?

I see that Ladick is getting stick on Ploppynet for entering into a lease without undertaking a survey of the facilities at NP to see what repair work needed carrying out. Plenty of folk connected with RDFC could have told them if they'd bothered to enquire.

Didn't he wait until the summer before he did that to us? With no other tenant in sight I'm sure he'll give them as much time as possible. Doing it now would be pointless, they clearly don't have £12.5k a month to give in rent.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.
