I see they've got a bumper crowd for their crucial fundraiser tonight, 400

Though while I laugh, a small part of me can't help but feel a little sorry for them after seeing their enthusiasm and optimism before the game, thinking they were getting 2000.

@JonDunhamET: "Just before kick off at NP. Turnout very VERY disappointing so far. Big shame."

Just to repost what I said on another forum:

I was thinking in the lead-up to this game that surely it would've been better to just ask for donations online, rather than a exhibition game. Surely having a mass online spamming of non-league fans and trying to get your plea across whilst having a updated total (e.g. Darlo's site) would've been better. Instead there's the distinct possibility of a hammer blow to an already flaky morale that a bad attendance in this game would provide?

I expect they'll have to pay overheads such as electricity and the such-like?

Thay've gone and produced all those posters stating they're a community club, but where ? Seems to me they left their community and moved into ours, where they have a far smaller supporter base than us !! I do wish they'd "get it" and go back where they should be.

Jon Dunham's said that the 525 in attendance have raised £5,700. So just over £10 per head. Not that I'm belittling their efforts but once you've taken overheads out, it's not going to be much for their players.

It's a shame really, they are trying to cling on and pay the bills that their Chairman should be paying.
Will they ever see the money they are raising?................somehow I doubt it. 8-)

I am saddened that only 525 supporters made the effort for this very important game and would have hoped that whatever their personal misgivings they would have turned out for the players at least. Loyalty works both ways.
If the combined fans from the Poppies and Diamonds do not care sufficiently to keep this club and ground alive and non league football local, then I think the supporters only have themselves to blame.Does anyone know how much has been donated to the Supporters Trust this week so far before we admit total defeat? How can we find out?

Cheeky fecker !! WE have kept our club alive thanks and I don't give a gnats fart about YOUR club, why should I? Especially while its infecting our rightful home. Its not your community and its not your righful home !! Now go bust, go home, resurrect yourselves and play us next season in the UCL, I'll have a hell of a lot of respect for you if you do that !!

lol we care for our club, why should we give two hoots for their club?
looks like their own fans don't care either.

To be fair, 525 isn't too bad for a nothing friendly, however this was a bit more important than that wasn't it? Biggest result for them was George Rolls being there, he's obviously plotting something, he'll fit in a treat over there with the chums he'll bring along as well. They'll no dount survive....... for now!
